Kitchwin Hills announce fees for 2022
Kitchwin Hills resident stallions Graff and Sooboog will stand for $13,200 (inc GST) and $8800 (inc GST) respectively this upcoming breeding season.
Graff, a dual Group-winning son of Star Witness, covered a quality book of 120 mares in his first season while second-season stallion Sooboog has sired 23 individual winners thus far.
Glen Eden Stud add quality trio to its stallion roster
Glen Eden Stud have announced that Yulong Prince (SAf), Palentino and Trust In A Gust will join its stallion roster this upcoming season.
Yulong Prince, a dual Group 1-winning son of Gimmethegreenlight, will stand for $7700 (inc GST) after relocating from Yulong Stud after one season.

Palentino, who previously stood at Widden Stud will command a fee of $6600 (inc GST) while former Swettenham Stud resident Trust In A Gust is set to stand for $4400 (inc GST).
Giant’s Steps (Arg), the only dual Group 1-winning son of Giant’s Causeway (USA) standing in Australia remains on the Glen Eden roster at a reduced fee of $3300 (inc GST).
Ghibellines heads White Robe roster
White Robe Lodge will again present a roster of four stallions featuring the proven trio of Ghibellines, Raise The Flag (GB) and Gallant Guru, along with the well-credentialled Ancient Spirit (Ger), who will cover his second book of mares this upcoming season.

On the back of a successful season that has featured five individual stakes winners, Ghibellines will stand for NZ$8000 (plus GST). Ancient Spirit, a multiple Group 2-winning son of Invincible Spirit (Ire) will again stand for NZ$7000 (plus GST) after a good reception in his inaugural season at stud.
Raise The Flag, a son of Sadler’s Wells (USA) will remain at NZ$6000 (plus GST) while Gallant Guru is set to stand for NZ$2000 (plus GST).
Capitalist continues charge
Newgate Farm stallion Capitalist brought up his 55th winner of the season by the way of Collier Bay’s breakthrough maiden victory at Taree on Monday.
The Nathan Doyle-trained filly finished the better of Pontoon Pete (Casino Prince) and Waipio (American Pharoah {USA}) on resumption.
Leading Lady lobs
Maurice (Jpn) filly Leading Lady secured the second win of her career when victorious at Muswellbrook on Monday.
The Paul Perry-trained filly beat home Ella Te Ama (Scissor Kick) while The Outcast (Dream Ballad) rounded out the minors.
The Arrowfield Stud-based Maurice has sired 31 winners this season, which sees him occupy fourth position on the second-season sires’ standings by winners.
Shalaa filly salutes
Shalaa (Ire) filly Phule notched the third win of her career when saluting at Taree on Monday.
The Australian Bloodstock-owned 3-year-old beat home Freddie Eddie (Carrara) and Crimson Rock (Scissor Kick) in the 1107-metre contest.
Shalaa, who will stand at Arrowfield Stud for $33,000 (inc GST) this upcoming breeding season, is currently second on the second-season sires’ standings by winners with 41.
Monday double for Mikki Isle
Second-season stallion Mikki Isle (Jpn) brought up his 19th winner of the season by the way of a double on Monday.
The son of Deep Impact (Jpn), who shuttled from Shadai Stallion Station to Arrowfield Stud, was represented by the Paul Perry-trained Yorikiri and the Brett Cavanough-trained Babayka saluted at Taree and Muswellbrook respectively.
Change of plans for Ayrton
Ayrton (NZ) (Iffraaj {GB}) will bypass Saturday week’s G1 Doomben Cup after connections opted to pay a late entry fee for next month’s G1 Stradbroke H. at Eagle Farm.
Mick Price, who trains the Roll The Dice Racing-owned gelding in partnership with Michael Kent Jnr, said forecast wet weather was among a combination of factors behind the decision to drop Ayrton back in distance after his disappointing eighth placing in last Saturday’s G2 Hollindale S. at the Gold Coast.

Extreme Warrior (Extreme Choice) showed he is on track for Saturday week’s G1 The Goodwood H. at Morphettville when winning a Cranbourne trial on Monday in impressive fashion.

Windsor Park Stud Yearling Sale and Sports Luncheon
Following the success of its ‘Rugby, Racing and Beer’ auction last year, Windsor Park Stud have decided to make it an annual event and will return to Riccarton this Friday, May 13 where they will offer nine yearlings by Turn Me Loose (NZ), Mongolian Khan, Rageese and Time Test (GB) to the public.
The event, which will feature guest panellists Ciaron Maher, former All Black Israel Dagg, auctioneer Steve Davis, and TAB Trackside presenter Matt Cross is also helping to raise funds for the Ellie Stokes Trust.
Yearlings can be viewed on Thursday, May 12 at 2pm NZST at the Visitors' Barn, Riccarton Park racecourse, or alternatively by private appointment.
Tickets are NZ$65 per person or NZ$550 for table of 10.
Preakness a potential option
GI Kentucky Derby hero Rich Strike (USA) (Keen Ice {USA}) has bounced through his boilover victory and could press on to the GI Preakness S. at Plimco on May 21.
“That's (the Preakness) probably the plan,” said Rich Strike’s trainer Eric Reed, who indicated Rich Strike would return to Churchill Downs to work over the track before deciding on the colt's next start.
“I'm not going to do a whole lot with him and I don't like to run back quick. You get one like this in a lifetime and you have to protect him.”
