Looking Ahead puts the spotlight on runners of interest across Australia and New Zealand. Whether they are a particularly well-bred or high-priced runner having their first or second start, a promising galloper returning to the track or a horse which has trialled particularly well, we’ll aim to give you something to follow.
On Tuesday, we focus on a Lindsay Park-trained filly with an international flavour in her pedigree; she runs in a maiden at Sale, while at Goulburn, a Team Hawkes-trained 3-year-old and a Zoustar filly have caught our attention.
Sale, Race 2, 1.30pm AEST, Sale Water Specialists Mdn Plate, $35,000, 2238m
Mighty Adele, 3-year-old filly (All Too Hard x Cara De Luna {More Than Ready {USA}})
This filly from the Ben and JD Hayes camp will be looking to break her duck at the time of asking.
Mighty Adele has been unplaced in two runs to date, but her last-start fourth at Kyneton over 1850 metres was encouraging, and she should appreciate the extra trip.

A daughter of Vinery Stud’s multiple Group 1-winning son All Too Hard, she is the first foal of Newcastle maiden winner Cara De Luna.
Mighty Adele’s grandam, Oxigenada (Arg) (Ibero {Arg}) won her first seven starts in Argentina, including a Group 1, before notching a victory at Sandown for David Hayes. She has thrown Listed winner Harper’s Choice (Street Cry {Ire}).
The filly will jump from gate three under apprentice Hannah Le Blanc.
Goulburn, Race 3, 1.25pm AEST, Brisbane Meadows Mdn H., $24,000, 1600m
Interventionist, 3-year-old gelding (Dundeel {NZ} x Laissez Faire {Flying Spur})
This son of Dundeel (NZ) is out of Laissez Faire, an unraced three-quarter sister to dual Listed winner Lunaspur (Flying Spur), who is the dam of stakes winners Colorado Claire (Hussonet {USA}) and Moonovermanhattan (Manhattan Rain). Colorado Claire is the dam of Group 2 victor Gunnison (Not A Single Doubt).
Interventionist was bred by Arrowfield Stud and made $150,000 at the 2020 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale, with DGR Thoroughbreds purchasing him.

Among the large ownership group in the Anthony Cummings-trained 3-year-old is Francis and Christine Cook, as well as Duncan Ramage.
Unplaced in his two runs, Interventionist will jump from barrier two under Blake Spriggs.
Goulburn, Race 7, 3.55pm AEST, Goulburn Mulwaree Council Mdn H., $24,000, 1000m
Bright Flight, 3-year-old filly (Zoustar x Gliding {Flying Spur})
This Zoustar filly was bred by Matrix Bloodstock and hails from a family littered with stakes winners.
Her dam, Gliding, won the Listed Etheral S. and is from the Listed-placed Marrego (Marscay), making her a half-sister to five-time Group 1 victor Eremein (Timber Country {USA}) and Group 3 heroine Peace Force (Bernardini {USA}).

Offered by Lime Country Thoroughbreds, she was sold at the 2020 Magic Millions Yearling Sale, with Paul Moroney Bloodstock and Go Bloodstock going to $600,000 to secure her.
Bright Flight is trained by Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott and races in Sir Owen Glenn’s famous yellow, white checked sash, checked sleeves and cap.
The filly will be ridden by Winona Costin and will break from the inside stall.
Looking back
We had no luck with our Looking Ahead selections on Sunday, with So Greysful (Capitalist) unplaced at Ballarat, while Doubtless Wonder (Not A Single Doubt) and Charteris (Snitzel) also both failed to finish in the top three in their respective events at Nowra.
