Symonds and Masenhelder join TDN AusNZ

Lydia Symonds and Trent Masenhelder have joined TDN AusNZ's editorial team.

Symonds has extensive knowledge of and experience in the Australian/New Zealand racing and bloodstock industry having spent four years with ANZ Bloodstock as a journalist and news editor, and 18 months as Bloodstock Editor of Racing And Sports.

Symonds grew up in a racing obsessed family in the UK and completed a degree in Theology at Trinity College Dublin and then attained a sought-after Masters degree dedicating her studies to newspaper and journalism at City, University of London. Symonds has already assumed her role at TDN AusNZ and will be attending the upcoming Magic Millions Gold Coast National Broodmare Sale.

"The TDN AusNZ has come so far in a relatively short space of time and it is now the industry-leading publication in Australasia. It is evolving and implementing innovative ways of reporting news all the time and for a journalist that is such an exciting prospect," said Symonds.

"During my time at ANZ Bloodstock News and Racing And Sports I built strong relationships with some of the leading players in the industry, and I can't wait to continue building on these relationships at TDN AusNZ. I am really looking forward to joining such a talented team of people, and hope I can help to keep the publication flourishing and growing in the coming months and years."

Masenhelder is a talented sports journalist and has worked as Executive Producer of SEN Breakfast, broadcast journalist/producer at RSN, and a journalist at G1X.

"I’ve been a longtime reader of TDN AusNZ, and really enjoy the content; so, to be able to join the team and contribute to the publication is a great thrill. Racing is a great passion of mine and I love the breeding industry, so this is a match made in heaven."

Masenhelder started with TDN AusNZ during this year's Inglis Easter Sale.
