Pedigree Boosters - Magic Millions National Yearling Sale

With the Magic Millions National Yearling Sale set to get underway on the Gold Coast on Tuesday, we take a look at eight yearlings who have recently had substantial pedigree updates.

There's six fillies and two colts, with sires including Vancouver, Written Tycoon, Harry Angel (Ire), Dundeel (NZ), Star Turn and Pariah.

Lot 1405 - Vancouver x Ready For You (More Than Ready {USA}), filly – On account of Baramul Stud

From Golden Slipper hero Vancouver, this filly is related to 2-year-old Swiss Exile (Pariah). The Annabel Neasham-trained colt won the G2 Spirit Of Boom Classic (formerly Champagne Classic) at Eagle Farm on May 14, before finishing second behind Sheeza Belter (Gold Standard) in the G2 Sires’ Produce S. at the same track on Saturday.

This filly is the first living foal of the unraced More Than Ready (USA) mare Ready For You. Her grandam, Zauberin (Zabeel {NZ}), won the Listed Tokyo City Cup in 2011, and her fourth dam is blue hen Skating (At Talaq {USA}).

Lot 1440 - Written Tycoon x Seismic Warning (More Than Ready {USA}), filly - On account of Lyndhurst Stud Farm

Close relation Blondeau (I Am Invincible) provided a timely boost to this filly’s pedigree when he won the Listed Takeover Target S. at Scone on May 7.

The filly is also closely related to Group 3 victress Gypsy Goddess (NZ) (Tarzino {NZ}), a dual Group 1 placegetter.

Lot 1467 - Harry Angel (Ire) x Sretan (Bernardini {USA}), filly – On account of Raheen Stud

This filly is closely related to Alegron (Teofilo {Ire}), who gave her a timely pedigree update when he won the Listed VRC St Leger at Flemington on April 25.

The filly’s grandam, Pure Joy (Fusaichi Pegasus {USA}) is a Group 3 winner and dual Group 3 winner Fravashi (Falbrav {Ire}) is also on her page.

Her third dam, Angelic Smile (Dehere {USA}), is a sister to two-time Listed victress Russian Caravan.

Lot 1494 - Dundeel (NZ) x Timeless Choice (Redoute’s Choice), filly – On account of Arrowfield Stud

This filly is a half-sister to Count De Rupee (Real Impact {Jpn}), who won the G2 Victory S. at Eagle Farm on April 30. Count De Rupee is a seven-time winner with $2.6 million in prizemoney to his credit. The Victory S. triumph was his first stakes victory.

The Dundeel (NZ) filly is Timeless Choice’s third living foal; her first foal is Count De Rupee, while her second is an unraced 2-year-old named Bias and is a brother to that galloper.

Timeless Choice, who was unraced, is impeccably bred, being by Redoute’s Choice from Estelle Collection (NZ) (Stravinsky {USA}) – a Group 3 victress and an unraced sister to five-time Group 1-winning sprinter Lankan Rupee (Redoute’s Choice).

Also on this filly’s page is Group 2 winner La Sizeranne (NZ) (Stravinsky {USA}), who has thrown Listed victress Za Moulin Rouge (Street Cry {Ire}).

Lot 1526 - Star Turn x Zali (Danehill {USA}), colt – On account of Baramul Stud

Like Lot 1405, this Star Turn colt is also closely related to 2-year-old Swiss Exile (Pariah), who won the G2 Spirit Of Boom Classic (formerly Champagne Classic), before finishing second behind Sheeza Belter (Gold Standard) in the G2 Sires’ Produce S. on Saturday.

His grandam is the great mare Skating (At Talaq {USA}).

Lot 1666 - Dundeel (NZ) x Helford River (Fastnet Rock), filly – On account of Canning Downs

By star sire Dundeel (NZ), this filly is from the same family as recent Group 1 winner Mazu (Maurice {Jpn}), who has five black-type victories.

The filly’s second dam, Headway (Charge Forward), won the G1 Coolmore Stud S. in 2009.

Lot 1681 - Star Turn x Inaflury (NZ) (Zabeel {NZ}), filly – On account of Baramul Stud

This filly is from the 1998 G1 Thousand Guineas heroine Inaflury (NZ) (Zabeel {NZ}) and is closely related to Dzsenifer (Scissor Kick), who notched her first victory in stakes company recently when taking out the Listed Silk Stocking on the Gold Coast.

The filly’s third dam, Royal Billie (Blod Flip {USA}), is a Listed winner.

Lot 1703 - Pariah x La Fouine Tail (Jpn) (Neo Universe {Jpn}), colt - On account of Arrowfield Stud

Close relation Siffelment (Jpn) (Harbinger {GB}) added some international to this colt’s page when he won the Listed Miyakooji S. (2000 metres) at Chukyo in Japan on May 14.

The colt’s grandam, Fabulous La Fouine (Fr) (Fabulous Dancer {USA}), is a Group 1 winner, so too is the colt’s third dam, Mercalle (Fr) (Kaldoun {Fr}).

The colt is also closely related to Listed placegetter Ranryo O (Jpn) (Pyro {USA}).
