Snowden makes case for forgotten filly

Paul Snowden says a line must be put through G1 Queensland Oaks hopeful Dynasties’ (Sebring) last start failure at Rosehill.

The Fairway Thoroughbreds-bred and owned filly was beaten by 20l in a BM78 affair, however, the start prior she accounted for leading Oaks fancy Gypsy Goddess (NZ) (Tarzino {NZ}) in the G3 Gold Coast Bracelet.

Snowden, who trains in partnership with his father Peter, said Dynasties failed to let down on the testing Rosehill surface and will be improved by a drier Eagle Farm surface.

Patient approach paying off

David Payne is hopeful that his patient approach with Tympanist (NZ) (Belardo {Ire}) can see connections continue to reap the rewards.

The Rosehill-based trainer will saddle up the impressive last start winner in an 1800-metre BM72 Handicap, after the big striding 3-year-old saluted on resumption at Randwick-Kensington.

“He’s so big, if you look at him in the ring he’s massive, and he’s just needed the time,’’ Payne said.

“You’ve got to let them mature. Early on he could run, he won his first trial easily over a sprint, but we had to be patient.”
