Bloodstockauction.com is excited to offer for sale an unreserved reduction in the bloodstock interests of astute owner and breeder, Paul Frampton.
Twelve high-quality mares will be offered for sale on the Bloodstockauction.com weekly catalogue, going live at 7pm AEST, July 28, with the final countdown beginning on August 2nd at 7pm AEST.
Highlighting this impressive list of mares, are 10 lots in foal to up-and-coming Widden sire, Stratum Star.
Although a starter in the Blue Diamond and Sires' Produce, Stratum Star rose to the top of his 3-year-old crop once transferred to DK Weir. A crop that included Kermadec (NZ), Wandjina and Petrology.
Stratum Star’s resilience was encompassed with an outstanding placing in the Australian Guineas and a luckless second in the Alister Clark S. at the end of an 11-start campaign.
That toughness rolled on into his 4-year-old and 5-year-old season where he won the G1 Sir Rupert Clarke and Kingston Town Classic with further placings in the Futurity, Toorak and Australian Cup.
All up, Stratum Star went under starters orders on 37 occasions for eight wins, earning nearly $2.5 million in stakes winnings and there is little doubt that his progeny will follow suit as his eldest turn four next month.
In only his second season as a sire in a very strong crop, Stratum Star is gaining momentum in an elite crop of young sires which includes the likes of Maurice (Jpn) and Capitalist. With 21 individual winners, the telling statistic is that his progeny mimic the sire and have gone on to win 36 races with 78 placings.
Like Stratum Star himself, the expectation is that his first crop will keep on getting bigger and stronger into their 4-year-old year and the Hong Kong market is already taking note.

Lot 59 - Waka (Domesday x Chameleon)
Fourth in the Listed Connoisseur S. at Flemington, Waka was a talented galloper of nearly $100,000 by Domesday, broodmare sire of Trapeze Artist.
She is in foal to Stratum Star.
Lot 60 - Apamene (Sebring x Apamea {GB})
A former $240,000 Inglis Easter Yearling, this daughter of Sebring is from a stakes-performed European mare and a half-sister to the mighty Group 1-winning Gary Moore-trained Takedown (Stratum).
Sebring is a Group 1-winning broodmare sire of On The Bubbles (Brazen Beau) and this pregnancy is a 5/8 to a Group 1 winner.
Syrian Star (Stratum Star) which is the 2-year-old out of Apamene recently won a very impressive trial at Scone.
She is in foal to Stratum Star.
Lot 65 - Mocks (Exceed And Excel x Joking Apart {GB})
An Exceed And Excel mare that has had four named foals and all are winners! From the strong European family of Fantastic Light (GB), Exceed And Excel mares continue to prove their worth accounting for 10 individual Group 1 winners including an Epsom Derby winner in Anthony Van Dyck (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}).
She is in foal to Stratum Star.
Lot 61 - Cislunar (Redoute's Choice x Moonsprite {GB})
A rare opportunity to purchase a stakes-producing mare that is closely related to the Champion 2-Year-Old and 3-Year-Old Miss Finland (Redoute's Choice). Cislunar is a wonderful stamp of a mare that has already produced a Group winner by Americain (USA) and proven the genetic worth of having as many daughters of Redoute's Choice in your broodmare band as is possible. Ready to be served by a stallion of your choice.
Lot 61 - Cislunar (Redoute's Choice x Moonsprite {GB})
Lot 67 - Ransack (Lonhro x Key Bar Nights)
A daughter of Lonhro from a stakes winner and a half-sister to a stakes winner. A great-looking family that is capable of throwing sale-toppers, this mare didn’t 'click' with Stratum Star and is duly being offered in-foal to Your Song to replicate the same Fastnet Rock over Lonhro cross as Derryn and Serene Majesty.
