Farm Manager for Elite Private Operation

We are a boutique breeding and racing operation based in Victoria’s North East. We are seeking a full-time, hands-on and passionate Farm Manager to join us!

Main duties and responsibilities of the role:

- Carrying out breeding management of broodmares and foaling.

- Overseeing the growth and development of foals, weanlings, yearlings and racing stock.

- Overseeing the well-being of horses including nutrition planning, feeding, education, grooming, early diagnosis and remedy of issues.

- Supervising and managing permanent and seasonal staff members, and external contractors.

- Managing and coordinating daily schedules and assisting farriers and veterinarians’ work as required.

- Coordinating farming operations to breed and raise racehorses.

- Maintaining horse farm's fences, water supply systems, equipment and farming areas.

- Ensuring healthy and safe working practices and environment at all times.

Skills and experience required:

- Minimum of five years experience in a management role on a thoroughbred horse stud.

- Knowledge and experience of the breeding industry is essential.

- Effective leadership skills to set and meet team protocols and standards.

- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

- Possessing a valid driver’s licence and a good driving record.

The successful applicant will enjoy an outstanding remuneration package commensurate with experience.
