Lot 38 - Tarzino (NZ) x But Beautiful (Ire) (colt)

View Pedigree

A Tarzino (NZ) colt out of the imported Pivotal (GB) mare, But Beautiful (Ire). This colt has inherited many great qualities from his father including great bone, depth of girth and length of rein and has impressed us all the way throughout his preparation, showing huge improvement over the past few months.

His sire Tarzino, was a Champion 3YO in Australia and is the son of the late Tavistock (NZ), who has sired 39 individual stakes winners, including nine Group 1 winners. Tarzino has had two Group 1 winners from his first crop and looks to have inherited Tavistock's ability to leave Derby and Oaks winners.

From the family of Champion 3YO Sprinter and influential sire Stravinsky (USA), who is one of Tavistock's best nicks. Damsire Pivotal is a Champion Broodmare Sire with his daughters producing 138 stakes winners worldwide, including 28 individual Group 1 winners. Interestingly, Tavistock has worked incredibly well when inbred to Sadler’s Wells (USA), producing eight stakes winners including G1 Victoria Derby winner Johnny Get Angry (NZ).

Lot 142 - No Nay Never (USA) x La Cicciolina (colt)

View Pedigree

This good-looking colt is out of La Cicciolina (Bernardini {USA}) by Champion Sire in Europe, No Nay Never (USA). He recently sired his first Group 1 winner in Australia with G1 Thousand Guineas winner, Madame Pommery. He is also the sire of multiple Group winner in New Zealand, Need I Say More.

Lot 142 is the complete package; he has the pedigree, temperament, ability and great conformation. We believe this colt is of the highest quality that Riverrock has presented to any sales ring!

This colt is from a very active family littered with black type. He has a fantastic lineup of blood through his dam lines being out of a Bernardini (USA) mare, out of a Danehill (USA) mare, out of a Rory’s Jester mare. Interestingly, one of No Nay Never’s best nicks is with Danehill. There have been a total of 13 stakes winners by No Nay Never with Danehill in the pedigree including Group 1 winner and sire Ten Sovereigns (Ire), Madame Pommery, Need I Say More and our very own Mana Nui (NZ) trained by Chad.

Lot 198 - Tavistock (NZ) x Orphea (colt)

View Pedigree

This progressive colt is from the late Tavistock’s (NZ) last crop, out of Fastnet Rock mare Orphea who is a full relation to G1 VRC Australian Guineas winner, Rock Classic. Tavistock has produced Derby winners in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and Hong Kong and we believe this colt could well be a Derby prospect too. He has shown he has more than enough talent to race as an autumn 2-year-old and a Derby is a very realistic goal.

Lot 198 has a very strong page, another credential being the Tavistock/Fastnet Rock cross has already produced Group 1 placegetter Young Werther (NZ). Previously standing at Cambridge Stud, Tavistock is the sire of 39 individual stakes winners including nine Group 1 winners. Breezing up in scorching 10.28, be sure to inspect this good-looking, athletic colt at Karaka.

Lot 230 - U S Navy Flag (USA) x Quest (NZ) (colt)

View Pedigree

Lot 230 is by Champion European Sprinter U S Navy Flag (USA) out of five-time-winning mare Quest (NZ), who is out of Group 3 winner Limerick (NZ) (Grosvenor {NZ}) making her a half-relation to Group 2 winner Capella (NZ) (Rip Van Winkle {Ire}). This colt has a beautiful action with an impressive stride length, breezing up in great fashion with a time of 10.60.

U S Navy Flag stands at Oaks Stud and has had a really promising start with two juvenile stakes winners in the Northern Hemisphere. There have also been a number of promising 2-year-old's by the sire to the trials in New Zealand. As mentioned, Quest was the winner of five races herself and is by the eight-time Champion Sire Volksraad (GB) who has left a phenomenal legacy in New Zealand. His daughters have produced a staggering 49 stakes winners including 11 individual Group 1 winners.

We believe this handsome boy is only going to continue to improve with age and as he gets over more ground.

Lot 268 - Wrote (Ire) x Showus (NZ) (filly)

View Pedigree

By Wrote (Ire) out of Showus (NZ) (Pentire {GB}) this quality filly gives the impression she could be an Oaks prospect; she has a beautiful action and is only going to continue to improve with more time. Her sire is off to a great start in New Zealand with impressive G3 Hawke’s Bay Gold Trail S. winner Best Seller (NZ).

Her dam, Showus is by Pentire (GB) who sired 16 individual Group 1 winners and is the broodmare sire of 19 stakes winners including three Group 1 winners. We also prepared the half-brother last year who Chad held in high regard and was sold to Hong Kong - all reports sound very positive. Lot 268 is from the same family as the Golden Slipper-winning Champion Sire, Marscay. She has the right attitude to take her a long way in the racing game.

Lot 320 - Dundeel (NZ) x Vivi Veloce (filly)

View Pedigree

One of two fillies in our draft, Lot 320 is by six-time Group 1 winner Dundeel (NZ) out of Group 3 winner Vivi Veloce (More Than Ready {USA}). Dundeel is one of Australia’s most exciting young sires with five Group 1 winners from his first two crops, including Super Seth and Castelvecchio, both now standing at stud. This filly is a high energy, athletic type that has a very willing attitude.

Her dam, Vivi Veloce is a Group 3 winner herself and every dam on her page is stakes performed. She is by the Champion Sire More Than Ready (USA) who also has glowing broodmare sire statistics. His daughters have produced 141 individual stakes winners including 16 Group 1 winners, notably Group 2 winner Let'srollthedice is a product of the Dundeel/More Than Ready cross who looks to have a bright future.

With a standout pedigree, this filly certainly has the ability to race in stakes company increasing her residual value even further.
