Coolmore and Godolphin drafts up for grabs on Inglis Digital
Offerings from Coolmore and Godolphin headline the catalogue for the Inglis Digital November (Late) Online Sale, which is now open for bidding.
The Coolmore duo is made up of the Chris Waller-trained Basquiat (Snitzel) and Cool Kaap (American Pharoah {USA}).
Basquiat has been placed in Group 3 company on two occasions, while Cool Kaap has won one of his four career starts.
On the duo, Coolmore’s Racing Manager Charlie Spicer-Jenkins said: “Basquiat finished within a length of the winner in the G1 JJ Atkins in June and is twice placed in Group 3 company; he’s a very rare offering.

“Cool Kaap is a city winner out of a multiple-stakes winner, he has considerable upside. He has been competitive at distances ranging from 1200 metres to 1800 metres on both dry and wet ground so he’s very versatile.’’
Meanwhile, Godolphin will offer 19 racehorses unreserved in the auction including Criaderas (Lonhro), the four-time winner and four-times Group-placed gelding who most recently finished 0.7l third at Newcastle’s Metropolitan meeting last Saturday.
A lightly raced 6-year-old of just 21 starts, Criaderas has finished in the placings in the past two editions of the G2 Villiers H. Other notable entries in the Godolphin draft include half-brothers to Group 1 superstars Anamoe (Street Boss {USA}) and Pierro.

“It’s a big draft and there’s everything from maiden gallopers right through to the well-performed Criaderas, who bounced back to form at the weekend just gone,’’ Godolphin’s Racing and Bloodstock Manager Jason Walsh said. “He’s a proper horse, Criaderas, he’s only lightly raced and he’s got a long and successful future ahead of him for his new owners in the right environment.”
Regally bred Justify shines in trial
There were five heats for the juveniles at Warwick Farm trials on Friday morning and the 2-year-old daughter of dual-Group 1 winner Global Glamour (Star Witness), by first-season sire Justify (USA), made the best possible impression on her first public appearance.
Just Glamorous, trained by Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott, recorded a 1l victory in Heat 11 (798 metres), pushed out by Tim Clark to win the trial with Istoria Girl (Written By) finishing second and Bertinelli (Snitzel) close behind in third. Just Glamorous was a $900,000 purchase by her trainers in conjunction with Kestrel Thoroughbreds at the 2022 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale.
The Waterhouse/Bott team also produced The Little Pumper (Shalaa {Ire}) in Heat 8, who spurted to the front late under Tim Clark. He was purchased by the same connections but at the Inglis Classic Yearling Sale. Costing $120,000, he is out of Sensibility (Redoute’s Choice), a winner who was second in the G1 Flight S.

Trapeze Artist filly saunters to Facile trial win
The most visually impressive of the juvenile trial winners on Friday morning was the aptly named Trapeze Artist filly Facile.
Jumping smartly and taking the lead, with little encouragement she quickly left the field trailing upon entering the home straight, sauntering away with Heat 10 under Brenton Avdulla, finishing 4.41l ahead of Fickle (I Am Invincible).

Goffs Foal Sale concludes
Havana Grey (GB) supplied the sale-topping filly on the final day of what Henry Beeby described as a “sensational” November Foal Sale at Goffs.
That €68,000 (AU$105,200) filly (Lot 962) was signed for by renowned judge Paul McCartan of Ballyphillip Stud, best known for breeding speedballs Harry Angel (Ire) and Tiggy Wiggy (Ire) (Kodiac {GB}), and was consigned by Olive O'Connor Bloodstock.
McCartan said, “She was a beautiful filly out of a Showcasing mare and there are plenty of 2-year-old winners in the pedigree. I've been very impressed by Havana Grey. I really liked his foals from his first crop as well.”
On Thursday, 176 of the 235 foals were sold which equates to a 75 per cent clearance rate in a week where the overall turnover rose 16 per cent to €29,561,000 (AU$45,740,400).
