Looking Ahead puts the spotlight on runners of interest across Australia and New Zealand. Whether they are a particularly well-bred or high-priced runner having their first or second start, a promising galloper returning to the track or a horse which has trialled particularly well, we’ll aim to give you something to follow.
Our Looking Ahead selections for Tuesday are all racing at Terang in Victoria. We have found two well-related 3-year-olds; a filly by Rubick and a gelded son of Russian Revolution.
Terang, Race 1, 12.30pm AEDT, Bet365 Top Tote Plus Mdn Plate, $27,000, 1000m
Rubikai, 3-year-old filly (Rubick x Lanikai {I Am Invincible})
This filly was bought by Prime Thoroughbreds for $170,000 from the Tyreel Stud draft at the 2021 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale.
Rubikai is from a three-time winner, whose first foal is the 4-year-old gelding Kalino (Pierro) - a winner of one of his 13 starts with Chris Waller.
The filly’s second dam, Rivers Secret (Flying Spur), won at 1000 metres and is a half-sister to the Group 1 victress River Dove (Hurricane Sky), who is the dam of the Group 2 winner and Group 2-producing sire Headwater.

Looking Back
