The 2-year-old is the first foal of the unraced Pierro mare Fuji Spirit, who was bought for just $7273 via the 2019 Inglis Monthly (April) Online Sale when offered by Morning Rise Stud.
Fuji Spirit is out of the former topliner Yosei (Invincible Spirit {Ire}), who won three Group 1s - the Sires' Produce S., Thousand Guineas and the Tattersall’s Tiara - amassing in excess of $1.2 million in prizemoney.
The Spirit Of Zero’s third dam, Fuji Fairy (Fuji Kiseki {Jpn}), was unplaced in just one career start, while the fourth dam, Lilac Fairy (Ire) (Rainbow Quest {USA}), was an unraced half-sister to the Group 1 winner Zelator (Alzao {USA}).
Fuji Spirit has a yearling filly by Palentino and was covered by Frosted (USA) last spring.
