Looking Ahead puts the spotlight on runners of interest across Australia and New Zealand. Whether they are a particularly well-bred or high-priced runner having their first or second start, a promising galloper returning to the track or a horse which has trialled particularly well, we’ll aim to give you something to follow.
We have two selections from Randwick on Saturday as Bonding (Snitzel) makes her debut in the Pierro Plate, while Kundalini (I Am Invincible) will attempt to make it second time lucky when she tackles the R. Listed Inglis Millennium. At Sandown-Hillside, Zousuko (Zoustar), who finished second at stakes level on debut, will look to break the ice in the G2 Blue Diamond Prelude (Fillies).
Randwick, Race 1, 12.20pm AEDT, Pierro Plate, $150,000, 1100m
Bonding, 2-year-old filly (Snitzel x Colorado Claire {Hussonet {USA}})
Team Hawkes must have a high opinion of this filly to throw her into what looks a hot renewal of the Pierro Plate at Randwick on Saturday where she will jump from gate one with Jason Collett set to take the ride.
The daughter of Snitzel was purchased by her trainers for $750,000 from the Arrowfield Stud draft at the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale last year and she is out of G2 Phar Lap S.-winning mare Colorado Claire, making her a three-quarter sister to Group 2 winner Gunnison (Not A Single Doubt).

Colorado Claire herself is a daughter of multiple stakes winner Lunaspur (Flying Spur) and she is also the dam of Group 2 scorer Moonovermanhattan (Manhattan Rain). Further back this is the same family as Hong Kong Group 1 winner Lucky Bubbles (Sebring).
Randwick, Race 6, 3.20pm AEDT, R. Listed Inglis Millennium, $2,000,000, 1100m
Kundalini, 2-year-old filly (I Am Invincible x Ruud Awakening {Bernardini {USA}})
Having finished second to the highly touted colt Don Corleone (Extreme Choice) on debut, the Ciaron Maher and David Eustace-trained Kundalini will look to follow up that debut performance when she tackles the R. Listed Inglis Millennium.
The daughter of I Am Invincible was bought by James Harron for $1.7 million at last year’s Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale and she will race in the Fairway Thoroughbreds colours on Saturday.

The filly is out of G1 ARC Diamond S. winner and R. Listed Karaka Million 2YO winner Ruud Awakening, making her a half-sister to G3 Pago Pago S. winner Rise Of The Masses (Russian Revolution).
Kundalini will jump from alley five with Jason Collett set to take the ride.
Sandown-Hillside, Race 4, 2.20pm AEDT, G2 Blue Diamond Prelude (Fillies), $300,000, 1100m
Zousuko, 2-year-old filly (Zoustar x Tetsuko {I Am Invincible})
This daughter of Zoustar finished second in the G3 Blue Diamond Preview (Fillies) on debut and she will be attempting to go one better when she lines up in the G2 Blue Diamond Prelude (Fillies) at Sandown-Hillside on Saturday. The filly will jump from gate six with Jamie Mott booked to take the ride.
Purchased by Redgum Racing for $525,000 from the Yarraman Park draft at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale last year, the John McArdle-trained Zousuko is out of stakes-placed I Am Invincible mare Tetsuko, who has produced three winners.
