The catalogue for the 2023 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale was released on November 21, 2022, and since then, a host of yearlings that will be offered at Riverside Stables have had their pedigree enhanced, which is important information for vendors and buyers alike.
Lot 234 - Brazen Beau x Alecia Beth (Street Cry {Ire}), colt - on account of Torryburn Stud
This colt by Darley’s Brazen Beau was already a three-quarter brother to three-time winner Willowheart (I Am Invincible) and a half-brother to Jamesonheart (Deep Field), but since the Inglis Classic Yearling Sale catalogue was printed another of his half-siblings, Infinitive (Hellbent), has added more punch to the page when she broke her maiden at her third start at Newcastle on January 17.
Catalogued as Lot 234, the colt is out of the winning Street Cry (Ire) mare Alecia Beth and she is herself a daughter of Group 2-placed mare Sharp Aunty (Flying Spur), a three-quarter sibling to multiple Group 1-winning Champion Forensics.
The colt’s third dam is Listed winner True Blonde (Naturalism {NZ}) and she is also the dam of Listed winner Regrowth (Unbridled’s Song {USA}), the mother of G3 SAJC Breeders’ S. winner Colour (More Than Ready {USA}).

Lot 371 - Merchant Navy x Diamond Fever (High Chaparral {Ire}), filly - on account of Bell River Thoroughbreds
This filly by Coolmore Stud’s dual Group 1 winner Merchant Navy is out of the winning High Chaparral (Ire) mare Diamond Fever and her daughter, Idoneus (Deep Field), became the mare’s second winner when she got off the mark at Ipswich on Thursday.
Diamond Fever herself is a daughter of Champion Sprinter Dane Ripper (Danehill {USA}), whose six winners are headed by stakes-placed duo Switchblade (Fusaichi Pegasus {USA}) and Star Ripper (Encosta De Lago). Dane Ripper herself is a daughter of fellow Group 1 winner Red Express (Sovereign Red {NZ}).
This filly is one of six lots catalogued at the Inglis Classic Yearling Sale by Merchant Navy.

Lot 667 - Brutal (NZ) x Pearl Congenial (Gio Ponti {USA}), colt - on account of Newgate Farm
This Newgate Farm-consigned Brutal (NZ) colt was handed a timely update when his 2-year-old brother Rush Hour (Russian Revolution) made a winning debut at the Gold Coast on January 14.
Both the colt and Rush Hour are out of the stakes-placed mare Pearl Congenial (Gio Ponti {USA}) and she is also the dam of winning Deep Field gelding Black Tahitian.
Pearl Congenial’s dam Congenial (Redoute’s Choice) is a sister to Salutations and she is now better known as the mother of dual Group 1 winner turned Waikato Stud-based sire Super Seth as well as Group 2 winner Wild Planet (Animal Kingdom {USA}).
From the first crop of G1 Doncaster H. winner Brutal, the colt will be offered by Newgate Farm, where the son of O’Reilly (NZ) resides.
