Randwick: R. Listed Inglis Millennium, $2,000,000, 1100m
Recording a barnstorming win to remain undefeated after two starts, Learning To Fly (Justify {USA}) looks to be one of the country's best juveniles.
Hailing from the debut Australian crop of her Coolmore America-based, Triple Crown-winning sire (and one of his seven stakes winners), she was bred by Katom and purchased by Kia Ora Stud for $900,000 from the Coolmore Stud draft at the 2022 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale.
She is the second foal for the G3 Chairman's S. winner Ennis Hill (Fastnet Rock) whose dam is the G2 Reisling S. winner Hips Don't Lie (NZ) (Stravinsky {USA}) - also dam of the Listed winners Lake Geneva and Acrobat, both also by Fastnet Rock.
Served last spring by Snitzel after foaling an I Am Invincible filly, Ennis Hill also has a Pierro filly who is catalogued as Lot 117 at this year's Inglis Easter sale.
Learning To Fly boasts a cross of the wonderful mare Crimson Saint (USA) (Crimson Satan {USA}) via her grandson Storm Cat (USA) and son Royal Academy (USA).
G2 Light Fingers S., $250,000, 1200m
Part of a good day for her Yarraman Park-based sire (and one of his 90 stakes winners) and for her owners Godolphin, In Secret (I Am Invincible) was gutsy winning the fifth race of her seven-start career - doing well at her first run since taking out the G1 Coolmore Stud S. at Flemington in late October.
Bred by Segenhoe Thoroughbreds Australia and Saconi Thoroughbreds and purchased by Godolphin from the Segenhoe draft for $900,000 at the 2021 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale, she is the second foal and second winner for the dual Group 3 winner Eloping (Choisir) whose three-quarter brother Of The Brave (Starspangledbanner) won a G3 Blue Diamond Prelude.
After foaling another I Am Invincible filly last spring, Eloping was again served by that stallion. Her previous foal is a Snitzel filly whilst her Trapeze Artist 2-year-old (a $200,000 purchase for Price Racing and Breeding at last year's Inglis Premier Yearling Sale) has been named Comeau.
In Secret boasts an interesting pedigree with her sire bred on a Danzig (USA)/Sharpen Up (GB)/Biscay/Lunchtime (GB) cross whilst her damsire Choisir is Danzig/Sharpen Up/Lunchtime/Biscay.

Yet to run a bad race, Feels Playful (Playing God) was deserving of this stakes success - giving a nice kick in the run home to record the third win of her six-start career.
The 11th stakes winner for her Darling View Thoroughbreds-based sire, she was bred by Dr CG Davey out of the unraced mare Feels Like Spring (Dr Johnson {USA}).
Also dam of the G3 Western Australian Oaks runner-up Feels Danish (Danehill Express), Feels Like Spring was served last spring by A Lot (USA) having had the two previous seasons off.

He had been out of the winner's circle for a while but Farooq (Frankel {GB}) now looks a leading G2 Adelaide Cup chance on the back of this tough performance.
The 107th stakes winner for his Juddmonte-based star sire, the 10-time winning 7-year-old was bred by Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Maktoum.
He is the second stakes winner produced by the G1 Robert Sangster S. winner Rostova (Testa Rossa), also dam of the four-time Group-winning sprinter Anaheed (Fastnet Rock).
