Since acquiring The Chase in 2014, the China Horse Club has made significant improvements to the property which is a feature among its international lifestyle facilities.
Located just 90 minutes south of Sydney and two hours north of the Australian capital of Canberra, the Chase is one of the jewels in an area known as the NSW Southern Highlands.
The Chase has four colts and four fillies they will send through the ring over the next few days offering a great opportunity to tap into some of their tried and true bloodlines. A range of precocious and more Classic types sit amongst the draft, and they’re by a selection of Australia’s top proven sires including Pride Of Dubai, Zoustar and Russian Revolution.
Lot 29 - Pride Of Dubai x Cross Legend (filly)
This flashy chestnut filly is the second foal from the winning Sebring mare Cross Legend, a half-sister to Widden Stud’s Snitzel stallion Thronum. Cross Legend is also a half-sister to Cythera (I Am Invincible), a Listed winner who was Group 2 placed, and the Group 3-placed Rule Of Law (Snitzel).
She is from the brilliant family of world-class stallions Street Cry (Ire) and Shamardal (USA), whose influence in Australia has been cemented by his sire son Lope De Vega (Ire), with his progeny include Group 1 winner Gytrash. The trend looks to continue with G1 French 2000 Guineas winner Victor Ludorum (GB) also emerging from the family, and now shuttling to Darley’s Northwood Park in Victoria. Like Victor Ludorum and the Group 2 winner and multiple Group 1-placed Lucida (Ire) (Shamardal {USA}), this filly’s pedigree contains a duplication of blue hen Helen Street (GB) (Troy {GB}).
Coolmore stallion Pride Of Dubai has been in terrific form this season. He’s the sire of 17 stakes winners worldwide, including the brilliant Bella Nipotina who won the G1 Manikato S. in the spring and was recently placed in the G1 Black Caviar Lighting S. at Flemington.
Lot 62 - Zoustar x Eawase (colt)
This powerful good-moving colt is the second-foal from Eawase, a daughter of Sebring who won the Listed Bill Carter S. Eawase is a half-sister to Bezique (Spirit Of Boom), who placed in the same juvenile feature.
The second dam is the speedy Karuta Queen (Not A Single Doubt), a notable winner of the R. Listed Magic Millions 2YO Classic at the Gold Coast and placed in the G1 William Reid S., and it’s a precocious family which includes Card Queen (Final Card) who scored victory in the G3 Blue Diamond Prelude (Fillies) - this colt’s third dam.
Zoustar has proved work well with the family through the exploits of Eawase’s half-sister Sensical (Zoustar) who was recently placed in the Blue Diamond Preview (Fillies) for Peter Moody.
Lot 75 - Russian Revolution x Exotic Blend (filly)
A daughter of leading young sire Russian Revolution, this power-packed filly looks like a top juvenile prospect. Well-balanced with strength all round, she’s a daughter of the unraced Encosta De Lago mare Exotic Blend, whose two foals to race are both winners, including the Listed-placed Suffused (Choisir), who now races in Hong Kong as Magic Phoenix.
The family’s black type continues under the second dam, the stakes-placed Coffee Shop (USA) (Silver Ghost {USA}) who’s a sister to Listed winner Ghost Queen (USA) and a half-sister to yet another stakes winner.
Champion First Season Sire last season, Newgate Farm’s Russian Revolution couldn’t have made a better start as a second-season sire. From his first crop he recently gained his first elite-level winner when Communist took out the G1 Randwick Guineas, and one of his leading juvenile fillies, G2 Blue Diamond Prelude (Fillies) winner Revolutionary Miss, also showed she’s trained on when placing second in this season’s G1 Thousand Guineas and winning the G2 Kewney S. Both horses, like this filly, were bred by China Horse Club.
Lot 145 - Strasbourg x Just Zerene (filly)
Lot 145 is from the first crop of the G2 BRC Sires' Produce S. Strasbourg, a son of CHampion sire I Am Invincible.
This filly is the first foal from Listed Lighting S. winner Just Zerene, a daughter of Widden Stud's leading sire Zoustar. Just Zerene is a half-sister to the dual Group 3 winner Sharnee Rose (Nadeem).

This colt is a striking type by the sensational second-season sire Russian Revolution. He’s a half-brother to Listed Dulcify S. winner Giannis (Flying Artie), who was also placed in the G1 JJ Atkins Plate as a juvenile.
They are out of the two-time winner Palace Rock, a daughter of the high-class broodmare sire Fastnet Rock, making this colt a close relation to Group 1 winner Albany Reunion - also by Fastnet Rock. The Group 1 form is continued by Fast Dragon, a sibling to Palace Rock who was a winner of the Listed ARC Champagne S. and placed in the G1 Herbie Dyke S.
Lot 313 - Cosmic Force x Satin Robes (colt)
A fast and early running type, this colt is out of the high-class juvenile Satin Robes (Ne Coupez Pas {USA}), a winner of the Listed Kensington S. and runner-up in both the G3 VRC Thoroughbred Breeders S. and G3 Blue Diamond Prelude (fillies).

Lot 408 - Pride Of Dubai x Why be Discreet (filly)
This well-related filly is an excellent stamp of her sire, with great depth and a powerful shoulder. Her dam, the young mare Why Be Discreet (Medaglia D'Oro {USA}), is a half-sister to three stakes winners and her only foal to race is a winner.
Her second dam, the Group 3 winner She’s Discreet (Euclase), is a sister to the champion juvenile Be Discreet, and is from a family of juvenile stakes winners.
Medaglia D’Oro (USA) is a leading broodmare sire, responsible for 77 stakes winners including five at the elite level.
Last week Why Be Discreet’s 2-year-old colt, The King (Russian Revolution), announced himself as top juvenile prospect for the second half of the season with an authoritative trial win by 3l at Randwick and will be aimed accordingly at the upcoming 2-year-old features by the Snowden stable.
Lot 465 - Cosmic Force x Bond (colt)
This athletic son of Newgate Farm’s first-season sire Cosmic Force and is nicely coupled, with an effortless action.
A lightning-quick son of Deep Field, Cosmic Force showed his juvenile class when forging a devastating win in the G3 Pago Pago S. and he returned as a 3-year-old to win the G2 Roman Consul S., defeating the likes of Microphone.
Apart from his sire, this colt has high-class juvenile form littering his page, such as his dam’s half-sister Virage De Fortune (Anabaa {USA}), a Group 1 winner at two. He is also from the family of Listed Lonhro Plate placegetter Testimonial (Medaglia D'Oro {USA}) and Geist (Medaglia D'Oro {USA}), who was placed in the G2 Blue Diamond Prelude (fillies).
