Racetrack results consistently punching above weight

The likes of Newgate Stud pair Extreme Choice and Russian Revolution, Rosemont Stud's Shamus Award, and Toronado (Ire) who stands at Swettenham Stud will be represented at the sale.

And with the average price in 2022 being less than $20,000, Inglis’ Victorian Bloodstock Manager James Price urged buyers to focus on the value available at the Gold Sale.

The Inglis Gold Yearling Sale continues to punch above its weight with outstanding race results, such as Group 1-winning graduates Lunar Fox (Foxwedge), Savatoxl (Kuroshio), Media Award (Shamus Award) and Malaguerra (Magnus) who have been sourced from the Gold Sale for a combined $85,000, and incredibly they have won just shy of $4.5 million between them.

In 2023, Gold Sale graduates have enjoyed group success, including one of Victoria’s most progressive fillies in the Greg Eurell-trained Papillon Club (Toronado {Ire}).

The daughter of the Swettenham-based Toronado was a $70,000 yearling purchase from the draft of Rosemont Stud at the 2021 Inglis Gold Yearling Sale.

The filly has won three of her six starts including the G3 Alexandra S. at Moonee Valley.

Other recent graduates include the fantastic money-spinners such as Express Pass (Wandijna) who was only a $38,000 purchase by Nick Ryan Racing and JJ Consultants through the draft of Blue Gum Farm at the 2018 edition.

The gelding has won the Listed Chautauqua S. and placed at Group 3 level earning over $500,000 for connections.

Blue Gum Farm was also responsible for consigning the G2 Moonee Valley Fillies Classic winner La Falaise (Canford Cliffs {Ire}), selling the yearling filly for just $5000 to Forest Lodge Racing.

“Aside from the Group 1 winners, other graduates from the sale include the likes of Free To Move, who has won over $327,000 having been picked up for $8000, and, most famously, Mahamedeis, a winner of over $1.2 million having been bought for just $24,000,’’ Price said.

2023 Inglis Gold Yearling Sale graduates will also be eligible for the new incentive -the Inglis Xtra Bonus Series. Part of the fabulous Inglis Race Series, the Inglis Xtra Bonus series will include $5 million worth of bonuses for eligible horses who win their maiden; 50 maidens will be incentivised with a $100,000 reward to the winner.

All horses purchased will also be eligible for the $12.55 million Inglis Race Series at a discounted fee of $2500 (inc GST) compared to the usual $5000 (inc GST).

“Prizemoney in Australia continues to be at an all-time high, and there is no better time to be involved in racehorse ownership, so the Gold Sale is a prime opportunity to buy a horse or a share of a horse that can race for that fantastic prizemoney,” Price said.
