Sledmere Stud - Night Watch Foaling Attendant

Sledmere Stud have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Night Watch Foaling Attendant to join our dynamic team.

The successful applicant should have the following attributes:

• Attend and assist with foaling down mares.

• Experience and knowledge of normal and abnormal foaling positions.

• Ability to accurately monitor and assist mare and foal post foaling.

• Experience in the care and management of newborn foals including foal nursing.

• Excellent horse handling skills and experience.

• Knowledge and understanding of veterinary procedures.

• Administering medications (IV, IM & oral).

• Accurate record keeping.

We offer a competitive remuneration package and excellent working conditions. Upon completion of foaling season duties the role reverts to day shifts within the breeding team. Applications will be dealt with in the strictest confidence.

Matamata Racing Club - General Manager

A key role has arisen with one of New Zealand’s most recognised and progressive thoroughbred racing and training operations, the Matamata Racing Club Inc.

The MRC is seeking a general manager, suitably skilled to head the management team overseeing 14 annual racedays, approximately 750 horses in training month by month, plus extensive on-course stabling.

The necessary skillset would ideally include:

- Racing industry knowledge

- Proven administrative experience

- An understanding of modern accounting systems and budget management

- Experience in health and safety, creating policies, employment protocols

- Promotional and comprehensive comms ability

- The foresight and drive to advance the interests of the Matamata Racing Club
