Listed Scone Cup, $200,000, 1600m
It was a hometown winner of this Listed feature, the roughie Commando Hunt (Time For War) adding another country cup to his tally... the Cameron Crockett-trained 5-year-old having also won the Muswellbrook Cup in late March.
The fourth stakes winner from just two crops produced by the late Time For War, a dual Group 2 winning son of Snitzel, Commando Hunt was bred by his managing part-owner D Kennedy who stayed in after Kitchwin Hills sold him for $30,000 to Sheamus Mills Bloodstock at the 2019 Inglis Scone Yearling Sale.
His dam is the city placed two-time winner Misasio (Strategic) who has produced another five winners including the Scone Inglis 2YO Challenge winner Barbass (Benfica).
Served last spring by Time For War's son Time To Reign having foaled a filly by him in September, Misasio - a descendant of the legendary mare Pretty Polly (GB) (Gallinule {GB}) is out of the dual city winner Eye Spy (Spectacular Spy {USA}).
