G1 Doomben Cup, $1,000,000, 2000m

The fourth dual G1 Doomben Cup winner, Huetor (Fr) (Archipenko {USA}) had been out of the winner's circle since taking this race out last year but lost no fans with consistent form.

Bred by Sarl Darpat France, the tough import is one of 25 stakes winners and six winners for his late G1 HKJC Queen Elizabeth II Cup-winning sire.

His well-travelled triple Listed-winning dam Briviesca (GB) (Peintre Celebre {USA}) has produced another five winners including the G1 Prix de l'Opera winner Villa Marina (GB) (Le Havre {Ire}) and the stakes-placed Aguafria (USA) (More Than Ready {USA}).

Briviesca is a granddaughter of the G3 Lingfield Oaks Trial winner Kilinski (Ire) (Niniski {USA}), also grandam of the G1 Champions Fillies and Mares S. winner Madame Chiang (GB) (Archipenko {USA}).

Huetor is bred on a 4 X 3 cross of Nureyev (USA) and is from that stallion's family as is Archipenko - the wonderful mare Special (USA) (Forli {Arg}) duplicated.

G2 The Rose, $300,000, 2000m

Last year's G1 Golden Slipper S. and G1 ATC Sires' Produce S. winner Fireburn (Rebel Dane) was back to her best as she heads towards Classic glory in the G1 Queensland Oaks.

Bred by Laurel Oak Bloodstock, Grant Bloodstock and the Carpe Diem Syndicate, Fireburn is one of the two stakes winners for her Laurel Oak-bred and -raced dual Group 1-winning sire, a member of the Widden Stud roster.

Her Newcastle maiden-winning dam Mull Over (So You Think {NZ}) is also dam of the talented juvenile Kintyre (Hallowed Crown) and a Pierata colt foal. Unfortunately she missed upon a return visit to Rebel Dane last spring.

Mull Over is a half-sister to the dual Listed winner Galizani (Galileo {Ire}) out of a daughter of the G1 Flight S. winner Danarani (Danehill {USA}). That mare's dam Vaguely Modest (Can) (Vaguely Noble {Ire}) won the Listed Selene S. and she is out of the G3 Miss Woodford S. winner Shake A Leg (USA) (Raise A Native {USA}) who produced the dual Group-winning stallion Danzatore (Can).

G3 Pam O'Neill S., $200,000, 1600m

Winning a Group race at her first crack at stakes level, Frumos (USA) (Kitten's Joy {USA}) is building a very nice record - this win her fifth from just 10 starts.

Bred by Kenneth L. Ramsey et al, she made her way through the US sales ring on two occasions - selling for just US$4000 (A$6000) at the 2018 Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale and US$27,000 (A$40,600) at the 2019 Keeneland September Yearling Sale.

The 115th stakes winner for her late sire who twice earned the crown of US Champion Sire, Frumos is one of the four winners produced by Desertstormelite (USA) (Chester House {USA}), half-sister to the Listed winner Enduring Will (USA) (Arch {USA}).

Also closely related to the stakes winners Beach Getaway (USA) (Run Away And Hide {USA}), Sisterhood (USA) (Kitten's Joy), In The Mood (USA) (Eskendereya {USA}) and Cozy Kitten (USA) (Kitten's Joy), Frumos has as her third dam the Group 3 mare Vivano (USA) whose sire is Pago Pago's multiple Group 1-winning son Island Whirl (USA).

Frumos' pedigree brings together the close relations Sadler's Wells (USA), Lt Stevens (USA) and Nureyev (USA).

G3 BRC Sprint H., $300,000, 1350m

Finding his best form at only his second run back from a spell, Surf Dancer (Ire) (Lope De Vega {Ire}) recorded his third black-type victory on top of his Listed King Charles II S. victory at York in July 2020 and his G2 Shannon S. win in September.

Bred by Skymarc Farm and Qatar Bloodstock, he is one of the 107 stakes winners for his Ballylinch Stud-based sire who shuttled to Australia on four occasions.

His dam Beach Belle (GB) (Invincible Spirit {Ire}) is a Listed-winning daughter of the Group 1-placed Listed winner Beach Bunny (Ire) (High Chaparral {Ire}) who also produced last year's G1 Criterium Saint-Cloud winner Dubai Mile (Ire) (Roaring Lion {USA}) and the dual Listed winner Naadirr (Ire) (Oasis Dream {GB}).

And Beach Bunny is a granddaughter of the G1 Prix Marcel Boussac winner Miss Tahiti (Ire) (Tirol {Ire}) who produced the G1 1000 Guineas heroine Miss France (Ire) (Dansili {GB}} and the dam of the local stakes winner (G3 Coogny S.) winner Mask Of Time (Ire) (Holy Roman Emperor {Ire}).

Listed Bill Carter S., $160,000, 1200m

Holding on gamely as he was challenged late, Zia (Zoustar) remained undefeated - doing a good job stepping straight up to stakes class off her debut Canterbury maiden victory.

Bred by Glenlogan Park and sold by them to Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott, Kestrel Thoroughbreds and Trilogy Racing for $360,000 at the 2022 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale, she is the 36th stakes winner for her Widden Stud-based sire.

Sadly her 3-time stakes-placed Pakenham maiden winning dam Soviet Secret (Eavesdropper {USA}) died young having produced just another two foals - the Sunshine Coast maiden winner Invinovich (I Am Invincible) and the 4-year-old Robber Baron (Capitalist) who has raced just the once, recently trialling nicely for the Robert Heathcote stable.

Soviet Secret is one of five winners (from as many foals) for Russian Babe (Singspiel {Ire}) who also produced the stakes-placed Macau galloper Unbreakable (Al Samer). Her half-sister is the G3 Auraria S. winner Girl In Flight (Commands) from the family of the G1 Grosser Preis von Baden and G1 Criterium de Saint-Cloud winner Prince Gibraltar (Fr) (Rock Of Gibraltar {Ire}).

Zia boasts crosses of the terrific mother and daughter Special (USA) (Forli {Arg}) and Fairy Bridge (USA) (Bold Reason {USA}) who appear via Fairy King (USA), Sadler's Wells (USA) and Nureyev {USA}) noting that Zoustar's sire Northern Meteor is also from this prolific family.

Listed Chief De Beers H., $160,000, 1110m

Rushing home late at nice odds, Mishani Sniper (Your Song) brought his consistent form in restricted class into better company - doing a good job for his happy owner/breeder Mike Crooks of Mishani Enterprises.

The seventh stakes winner for his Gooree Park-based G1 BTC Cup winning sire, Mishani Sniper is one of four winners (from as many runners) for the Sunshine Coast winner Scarlet Tanager (Red Dazzler) whose son Mishani Bullitt (Show A Heart) is a Group 3-placed, 4-time winner.

Served last spring by Lean Mean Machine and Performer, Scarlet Tanager slipped the previous season with her latest foal being a Sidestep yearling filly. Her 3-year-old Mishani Missile (Show A Heart) has won three including two in a row at the Sunshine Coast in February.

Scarlet Tanager is one of the seven winners produced by Biscay Bird (Bluebird {USA}) - dam of the 4-time Group 1 winner Universal Prince and the G1 Robert Sangster S. winner Universal Queen (Scenic {Ire}).

Biscay Bird is also ancestress of the G1 Coolmore Classic winner Krone (Eurozone), the dual Group 1 winner Think It Over (So You Think {NZ}), the G2 Karrakatta Plate winner Lucy Mae (Stratum) and the Listed Bagot H. winner Averau (Stratum).

A descendant of the influential matriarch Marchetta (GB) (Marco {GB}), Mishani Sniper is 3 X 4 Danehill (USA) with crosses of Natalma (USA) (Native Dancer {USA}), Almahmoud (USA) (Mahmoud {Fr}) and Milan Mill (USA) (Princequillo {Ire}).
