Eagle Farm: G1 Tattersall's Tiara, $700,000, 1400m
Palaisipan (So You Think {NZ}) gets her first Group 1 in the Tattersall’s Tiara after placing fourth in the Stradbroke H. a fortnight ago. Also handing her trainer Chris Munce, and jockey, Kyle Wilson-Taylor, their first Group 1 win.
The mare was bred by Gooree Park Stud and is already a Group 2 winner. She is the first and only foal for Touch Of Red (Fastnet Rock) who sadly passed away the January after foaling Palaisipan. The dam is a three-quarter sister to the Group 2 winner and now Twin Hills Stud resident Smart Missile. She is also out of the Listed-winning Kiss From A Rose (Encosta De Lago), who is a three-quarter sister to Champion Sire Northern Meteor. The family also has connections to Group 3 winners Queen Of The Hill (Danehill {USA}) and Sure Knee (Snitzel).
So You Think (NZ) continues his dominance as a sire, having just ticked over 50 stakes wins. He stands at Coolmore Stud this season for $88,000 (inc GST).
G3 Tattersall's Cup, $200,000, 2400m
Luncies (GB) (Iffraaj {GB}) came from last in the Tattersall’s Cup to come around the outside and blitz the field by 2.25l.
The gelding is the first black-type winner for the late Listed-winning mare Under The Rainbow (GB) (Fantastic Light {USA}). She is a half-sister to the Group 3-placed Sweeping Up (GB) (Sea The Stars {Ire}) as well as Group 2-placed Starfala (GB) (Galileo {Ire}), dam of the Group 3 winner Stay Alert (GB) (Fastnet Rock) and Listed-winning Star Rock (GB) (Fastnet Rock).
Iffraaj (GB) has had great international success, but this is stakes win number 10 for him in Australia.
G3 WJ Healy S., $200,000, 1200m
Prince Of Boom (Spirit Of Boom) took the lead shortly after the start from the wide barrier and showed no signs of tiring to take WJ Healy S. This was win number eight for the gelding from just 17 starts and his second win in a row after taking out the G2 Moreton Cup three weeks ago.
He is out of Dazzling Display (Red Dazzler) who is a half-sister to G2 Queensland Guineas winner Express Air (Piccolo {GB}), dam of the Listed-winning Simply Fly (Spirit Of Boom). The second dam, Air’s Precious (Air Express {Ire}), is half-sister to Listed winners Diamondsondinside (Iglesia) and Done Deal (Good Journey {USA}), dam of Listed winner Heaven’s Deal (Spirit Of Boom) and Miss Argyle (Iglesia), dam of multiple Group 1 winner Incentivise (Shamus Award), Group 3 winner and Waikato Stud resident Ardrossan and the Listed winners Bergerac (Drumbeats) and Cheyenne Warrior (Not A Single Doubt).
Prince Of Boom was just a $20,000 purchase for Adrenaline Thoroughbreds at the 2020 Magic Millions Gold Coast March Yearling Sale after being bred by Eureka Cambooya Thoroughbreds, Peter Mahony and Grania McAlpine and prepared by Eureka Stud.
Listed Tattersall's Gold Crown, $200,000, 2137m
Noah ‘N’ A Deel (Maurice {Jpn}) got going wide on the corner and had to fight hard to get the win.
This is the first foal and winner for dam Double Deel (Dundeel {NZ}), who is out of Group 3 winner and Group 1-placed Aliyana Tilde (Snitzel). She is a full sister to the Group 3 winner Teaspoon (Snitzel) and a half sister to Group 3 winner Smytzer’s Trish (Geiger Counter {USA}), dam of the Listed winners Swish Trish (Redoute’s Choice) and Stella Artois (Geiger Counter {USA}), dam of the Group 2-winning Freestyle (Snippets). This family also has ties to the multiple Group 3 winner and Royal Ascot runner, The Astrologist (Zoustar).
Noah ‘N’ A Deel was bred by Arrowfield Stud and Planette Thoroughbred while being prepared by the former at the 2021 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale where he was purchased for $100,000 by Waverley Park Lodge. He has now brought his prizemoney to over $300,000 for connections.
Double Deel has an unraced 2-year-old Chayse ‘N’ Adam (Maurice {Jpn}) who is trained by Les Kelly on the Gold Coast as well as a yearling colt by Shalaa (Ire). Maurice (Jpn) stands at Arrowfield this season for $82,500 (inc GST).
Listed Tattersall's Life Members S., $160,000, 1400m
Zoukerette (I Am Invincible) claims her second win and first at black-type level in the Listed Tattersall’s Life Members S.
The filly was bred by Milburn Creek Stud and is a half-sister to Listed winner Zoukerino (Snitzel) and Group 3-placed Spend (Snitzel). She comes from a strong dam line, with the dam, Walk With Attitude (Hussonet {USA}) as well as the second dam Hillfa (Danehill {USA}) being Listed winners. The family also has ties to Group 2 winners Shuffle Dancer (I Am Invincible) and Contessa Vanessa (NZ) (Bullbars).
Zoukerette was an $800,000 yearling purchase for Ciaron Maher Bloodstock and Suman Hedge Bloodstock (FBAA) at the 2022 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale where she was offered by her breeders Milburn Creek Stud. I Am Invincible is closing in on 100 stake wins and stands at Yarraman Park Stud for $302,500 (inc GST).
Listed Tattersall's Mile, $160,000, 1600m
Character (Teofilo {Ire}) joined a wall of horses across the track to nail them in the final stages to win the Listed Tattersall’s Mile, recording his second Group 2 win in the process.
The family has gone close to tasting black-type success before, with half-brother Stylised (Kermadec {NZ}) placing fourth in the Gloaming S. Character is the first foal out of Monogram (Medaglia D’Oro {USA}), who has produced two named foals for two winners. She is a half-sister to Group 2 winner Tarquin (Hard Spun {USA}). Both are out of Daanet Al Dunya (USA) (Rahy {USA}) who is a full sister to sire and multiple Group 1 winner Fantastic Light (USA), as well as Listed winner Hi Dubai (GB) (Rahy {USA}).
This was Teofilo’s (Ire) 20th stakes win in Australia, while Monogram’s third foal is an unnamed yearling by Ghaiyyath (Ire) and she was served by Kermadec (NZ) last season.
Randwick: Listed Civic S., $160,000, 1400m
Ucalledit (NZ) (Zacinto {GB}) returned to his previous good form to take out the only black-type race at Randwick on Saturday. He makes it nine wins from 24 starts plus an additional six placings.
The gelding is out of Special Bay (Al Maher) who has produced two named foals for two winners. She is out of Go With The Wind (Song Of Tara {Ire}), who is a full sister to the Listed winner Special Song (Song Of Tara {Ire}) and a half-sister to multiple Group 1 winner Bomber Bill (Air De France {USA}) as well as Group 3 winner Camargue (Air De France {USA}). Also in the family is Group 1 winner Kahma Lass (NZ) (Darci Brahma {NZ}).
Zacinto (GB) has only had just over 50 runners in Australia for 35 winners, with Ucalledit becoming his third Australian stakes winner.
