Perth Racing (the trading name of the West Australian Turf Club) is the premier thoroughbred racing club in WA, operating both Ascot and Belmont Park racecourses. As a multi-faceted racing, entertainment and event business, we stage more than 90 race meetings per year, including the high-profile Perth Cup, the $4m Quokka and The Pinnacles Series, which features the Railway Stakes, Winterbottom Stakes, Northerly Stakes and The Gold Rush.
The role
We are currently looking for a highly motivated professional to provide executive support to the Chief Executive Officer & WATC Board, related governance groups and Committees.
You will be responsible for the day-to-day business management functions of the Chief Executive Officer and the WATC Board and manage key director functions on major race-days and other key events, such as the AGM.
You will have impeccable attention to detail and exercise sound judgement and thrive on developing relationships.
We are seeking an astute individual with the following skills and experience:
- A minimum of five years' experience in providing executive support and assistance at a senior level.
- Knowledge of thoroughbred racing would be highly desirable.
- Demonstrated experience in organising workshops, meetings and events, including preparation and distribution of papers.
- Experience in providing a broad range of administrative and related clerical services including successfully writing procedures, reports and analysis.
- Flexibility to meet sometimes rapidly changing priorities and variable working duties and hours.
- Highly-developed information technology skills and proven ability to effectively use various word processing, databases and other software packages.
- High-level organisational skills, including the proven ability to set priorities, manage variable workloads and show initiative, flexibility, good judgment and discretion.
- High level of oral, written and interpersonal communication skills and ability to work as an individual or as a team member, together with the ability to work effectively and with minimal supervision.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
