Looking Ahead puts the spotlight on runners of interest across Australia and New Zealand. Whether they are a particularly well-bred or high-priced runner having their first or second start, a promising galloper returning to the track or a horse which has trialled particularly well, we’ll aim to give you something to follow.

On Sunday, the spotlight falls on two well-related sons of the late Not A Single Doubt at Sale and the Sunshine Coast, while a debutant at Sale will represent the exciting sire Saxon Warrior (Jpn).

Warlords, 2-year-old colt (Saxon Warrior {Jpn} x Gypsy Chimes {USA} {Snow Ridge {USA}})

Cranbourne-based trainers Trent Busuttin and Natalie Young will debut a son of Saxon Warrior, Warlords, at Sale on Sunday.

The colt is the seventh foal from the Snow Ridge (USA) mare Gypsy Chimes (USA). She was a dual winner and has produced the Group 3-placed Folk Dress (Pierro).

Warlords hails from the family of Buckaroo (GB) (Fastnet Rock), who claimed the Listed Tetrarch S. and was fourth in the G1 Critérium Saint-Cloud and the G1 Prix d’Ispahan.

The colt was a $400,000 yearling purchase by Busuttin Racing and Group 1 Bloodstock (FBAA) from the draft of Coolmore Stud at the 2022 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale.

Dipierdomenico, 2-year-old colt (Not A Single Doubt x Miss Salinger {All American})

Anthony and Sam Freedman will debut Dipierdomenico, a son of the much-missed Not A Single Doubt, on Sunday at Sale.

The colt is the third foal from the All American mare Miss Salinger. She was a winner as a juvenile and a half-sister to the Listed-winning Crack A Roadie and Road Trippin’, both sons of Charge Forward.

Furthermore, this is the family of the G1 William Reid S. victress Silent Sedition (War Chant {USA}).

Dipierdomenico was a $490,000 yearling purchase by the Rosemont-Victorian Alliance, Suman Hedge Bloodstock (FBAA) and David Redvers Bloodstock from the draft of Arrowfield Stud at the 2022 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale.

Sunshine Coast, Race 1, 11.50am AEST, PFD FOODSERVICES QTIS 2YO Mdn H., $30,000, 1400m

He’s A Player, 2-year-old gelding (Not A Single Doubt x Courtesan {NZ} {Mastercraftsman {Ire}})

Warwick Farm-based trainer Annabel Neasham will saddle up He’s A Player (Not A Single Doubt) for start two at the Sunshine Coast on Sunday.

The gelding is the fifth foal from the Mastercraftsman (Ire) mare Courtesan (NZ). She is a half-sister to Monaco Consul (NZ), a winner of the G1 VRC Derby and the G1 Spring Champion S.

Furthermore, this is the family of Military Plume (NZ), who won the G1 Australian Guineas and the G1 Rothwells S.

He’s A Player was a $250,000 yearling purchase by Bennett Racing from the draft of Yarraman Park Stud at the 2022 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale.

Looking Back

Saturday's best result from our selections was from Frank Express (Frankel {GB}) who finished second at Gosford, while Gangitano (Written By) and Vancouver Rocks (Vancouver) were unplaced at Caulfield and Pakenham Synthetic respectively.
