Looking Ahead - September 26

3 min read

Looking Ahead puts the spotlight on runners of interest across Australia and New Zealand. Whether they are a particularly well-bred or high-priced runner having their first or second start, a promising galloper returning to the track or a horse which has trialled particularly well, we’ll aim to give you something to follow.

For racing on Tuesday, we kick off at Beaumont-Newcastle with a well-related colt by Australia’s premier stallion. Then, at Horsham, we have a couple of nicely bred first starters in Race 2; a Snitzel colt with an international pedigree, and a Deep Field gelding.

Beaumont-Newcastle, Race 1, 1.40pm AEST, Coastline Pool & Spa CG&E Mdn Plate, $27,000, 1150m

Invincible Whip, 3-year-old colt (I Am Invincible x Crystal Whip {Lonhro})

Yarraman Park Stud bred this colt and offered him at the 2022 Magic Millions Gold Coast National Yearling Sale. He was bought by Australian Bloodstock for $100,000.

The Kris Lees-trained Invincible Whip is from a half-sister to the Group 3 winner Crystal Dreamer (Stratum) and the stakes performer Fast Talker (Fastnet Rock). The latter has produced the stakes winners Persuader (Zoustar) and The Actuary (Sebring).

Invincible Whip heads into his debut after three trials. He finished third at the first of those - at Muswellbrook on May 10.

Apprentice Dylan Gibbons will ride the colt.

The latter is the dam of the Listed winner Final Award (Smart Missile), who raced in Macau as Gon Sai Baau.

Deep Field

Deep Core’s second dam, Run For Roses (Danehill {USA}), is an unraced sister to the elite-level scorer and Group 1-producing sire Keeper, and is closely related to the Group 1 winner Metal Bender (Danasinga).

The gelding is trained by Ben, Will and JD Hayes.
