Saturday was an incredible day of racing. With most attention falling upon the blockbuster card in Sydney at Randwick, headed by three Group 1 races, it was the Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott stable who stole the show, walking away from Randwick with a haul of trophies and the coronation of two new Group 1 winners. Waterhouse and Bott claimed the G1 Flight S. with Tropical Squall (Prized Icon) and the G1 Metropolitan H. with Just Fine (Ire) (Sea The Stars {Ire}).

The G3 Breeders' Plate and Gimcrack S. provided plenty of thrills and question marks in Sydney at Randwick. The first-season sire Tassort was to the fore in the Gimcrack with his exciting filly Manaal, while the established Zoustar unveiled another potential star with Espionage.
