The Listed Magic Millions Debutant S. was first run in 2005 and was won by the Anabaa (USA) gelding Gait. In its relatively short history, the Caulfield event has had several high-class gallopers grace the honour roll.
Among them were the G1 Champagne S. hero Meurice, the flying grey Villa Verde (Not A Single Doubt) and the smart filly Missrock (Fastnet Rock).
Last year's victor, King's Gambit (I Am Invincible), scored in explosive style on debut and subsequently trained on recently to claim the G2 Roman Consul S.

This year will see 10 2-year-olds lineup, seven colts and three fillies. Three first-season sires are represented: Yulong's Pierata, Swettenham Stud's I Am Immortal and Too Darn Hot (GB), who shuttles to Darley Australia. However, Woodside Park's new edition, Shalaa (Ire), is the most represented sire with three runners gunning for glory.

Sale information: Aardvark was a $240,000 purchase by Baystone Farm from the draft of Highgrove Stud at the 2023 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale.
Aardvark is a son of the Champion 2-Year-Old Capitalist, a victor of the G1 Golden Slipper and the R. Listed Magic Millions 2YO Classic.
The colt is the third foal from the All American mare Hollywood Mistress. She won once over 1000 metres and is the dam of the dual winner Outback Playboy, a full brother to Aardvark.

Aardvark is related to the G1 Diamond S. winner Summer Passage (Snitzel) and the recent Listed Weetwood H. victor All That Pizzazz (Spirit Of Boom).
Furthermore, the colt is from the family of the outstanding Shania Dane (Danehill {USA}), a victress of the G2 Premiere S. She was placed in the George Main S. alongside the Myer Classic, Emirates S., All Aged S. and the Queen of the Turf, all at Group 1 level.

Alaa Plenty will head to Caulfield on Wednesday, having run second in a trial at Cranbourne in September behind Godolphin’s Eject (Street Boss {USA}).
Alaa Plenty is a son of Shalaa, who now stands at Woodside Park in Victoria. The colt is the second foal from the O’Reilly (NZ) mare Miss Adequate.

Miss Adequate is a three-quarter sister to O’Marilyn (NZ) (O’Reilly {NZ}). She won the G1 Manawatu Sires’ Produce and the G3 Hawke's Bay Gold Trail S. and placed in the G1 Diamond S.
O’Marilyn is the dam of the G2 Skyline S. winner O’President (Fastnet Rock).
Furthermore, this is the family of the G1 AJC Derby winner Headturner and the G1 Caulfield Guineas hero Anacheeva, both sons of Anabaa (USA).

First Settler is the third foal from the Street Cry (Ire) mare Graciousness. The family received a timely update last Saturday when the dam’s first foal, Vienna Princess (Snitzel), claimed the $1 million Silver Eagle to sit alongside her Listed success in the Twilight Glow S.

Arabian Summer is the third foal from the Street Cry mare Maraam. She was a $1.05 million purchase by Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Maktoum from the 2014 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale and won three races before retirement.

Arabian Summer is from the family of the Flying Spur mare Forensics. She was the Champion 2-Year-Old Filly in Australia in 2006/07. Forensics won the G1 Golden Slipper and the Myer Classic and the Queen of the Turf at Group 1 level.
