The role includes educating breakers and riding out young stock.

The successful candidate must have experience in a similar role and most importantly enjoy working as part of a team.

Highgrove Stud – Stud Manager Position

Highgrove Stud, a boutique farm located on the outskirts of Toowoomba on the Darling Downs, QLD, are seeking an experienced and ambitious Stud Manager to join our team. As Stud Manager, you will play a crucial role in breeding top-class racehorses and managing our elite broodmare band of 30 mares.

This position requires the successful applicant to be a hands-on farm and horse manager and be proficient in the following areas:

- Handling and feeding of mares, foals and yearlings.

- Assist the vet and farrier.

- Daily management of staff to ensure smooth farm operations.

- Work closely and report to the business owners.

- Yearling sale preparation and sale attendance.

- Planting, irrigation and general farm maintenance in consultation with an agronomist.

- General stud farm duties.

- Foaling down, experience essential.

- Basic computer knowledge.

- Strong organisational and planning skills.

- Passion for the horse breeding industry with a commitment to producing quality horses.
