Looking Ahead - January 3

3 min read

Looking Ahead puts the spotlight on runners of interest across Australia and New Zealand. Whether they are a particularly well-bred or high-priced runner having their first or second start, a promising galloper returning to the track or a horse which has trialled particularly well, we’ll aim to give you something to follow.

Wednesday's Seymour meeting in Victoria and New South Wales's Kembla Grange meeting will play host to three well-related debutants.

The 3-year-old filly is the third foal from the unraced Street Sense (USA) mare Prismatic. She is a half-sister to the Group 1 winner Paulele, who stands at Darley, Victoria. Also hailing from this family is Corniche (Fastnet Rock), a victor of the G2 Skyline S., the multiple Group 1 winner Merchant Navy and the recent G1 Thousand Guineas victress Joliestar (Zoustar).

Late Night Talking was a $150,000 purchase by Tricolours Racing from the draft of Widden Stud at the 2022 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale.

Migratory is also related to the G1 Australian Oaks victress Dizelle (Zabeel {NZ}) and G1 VRC Oaks winning daughter Pinot (Pierro).

The Written Tycoon filly Sienna Clare was our only selection to run on Tuesday. The 3-year-old filly made it a perfect one from one at Wangaratta. However, Rishiri (NZ) (Staphanos {Jpn}) was scratched at the venue.
