Listed Miss Andretti S., $125,000, 1200m
Favourite on the back of her excellent first-up performance in the Listed Summer Scorcher, Wild Belle continued the good recent run for daughters of Coolmore Stud’s underrated Pride Of Dubai.
That dual Group 1 winner’s 22nd stakes winner, Wild Belle - a four-time winner from nine starts - was bred by Rothwell Park and was sold by Segenhoe Stud to K Doak for $80,000 at the 2021 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale.
She is one of the two winners (the eight-time winner Commander Bell {Pierro} the other) for the terrific race mare Hi Belle (Clangalang), an eight-time winner who enjoyed black-type success in the G3 Mannerism S. and two Listed events.
Sadly, she died last year with her final foal being a 2022 born Time To Reign colt, her previous the yet-to-race Jerome Hunter-trained 3-year-old Divine Belle (Divine Prophet) who was fourth in a Mornington jump-out in late November.
Hi Belle is one of the five winners for the unplaced Seldom Caught (Jugah {USA}) whose dam is a half-sister to the G3 NZ St Leger winner Freequent (NZ) (Mistral Dancer {Can}) whose daughters have produced three stakes winners including the Group 1 winner I Do (NZ) (No Excuse Needed {GB}). This is also the family of the G1 Queensland Derby winner Court Ruler (NZ) (Viking Ruler).
