Muswellbrook Race Club - General Manager

We are currently seeking applications for the position of General Manager (GM).

Muswellbrook Race Club is one of the leading Country NSW Race Clubs, conducting 18 thoroughbred race meetings each year as well as hosting a variety of corporate and social functions at the racecourse.

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled and enthusiastic applicant, with a new multi-million-dollar expansion of the club’s Racing and Multi-Purpose Function Centre now confirmed to start construction in the near future.

The Role:

The GM position incorporates responsibility for all aspects of the club’s operations, leading the club’s management team and developing Community, stakeholder and industry participant relationships. The key responsibilities extend to but are not limited to:

- Race Day Management working within Racing NSW guidelines.

- Business planning and development.

- Community, membership, stakeholder and industry participant relationship management.

- Capacity to oversee budget preparation, financial analysis, planning and reporting.

- Project management, strategic planning, marketing, legislative compliance and reporting experience.

- Thorough understanding of Work, Health and Safety legislation and ability to manage risks.

- Event management including sales and marketing.

The role will include working with the Racing Industry Governing Body, Racing NSW and the Corporate Governance structure of the club to further develop and implement the club’s strategic plan.

The successful applicant will need to possess extensive leadership, communication, organisational, financial and management skills.

The GM position description can be provided on request and a competitive remuneration package will be negotiated with the successful applicant.
