Pedigree Boosters: Magic Millions Perth Yearling Sale

Ahead of the 2024 Magic Millions Perth Yearling Sale, we have found three yearlings who have had substantial pedigree updates over the past couple of months.

Since the catalogue for the 2024 Magic Millions Perth Yearling Sale has gone to print, a host of yearlings will go through the ring at the Swan Valley complex and have had their pedigrees enhanced, which is important information for vendors and buyers alike.

Lot 35 - Earthlight (Ire) x Chantski (War Chant {USA}), filly - on account of Yarradale Stud

Lot 35 is from the first Southern Hemisphere crop of Darley’s Earthlight (Ire) and is the final foal from the Listed Gimcrack S. victress Chantski (War Chant {USA}), who passed away in January.

This filly is a half-sister to Stormchaser (Impending), who has placed in the Listed Breeders Classic and the Listed Sir Ernest Lee-Steere Classic. Another half-brother, Final Authority (Zoustar), was a recent winner at Belmont while her half-sister, to Torpedoman (Street Boss {USA}), won at Bunbury.

Lot 82 - Starspangledbanner x Impressive Jeuney (Jeune {GB}), colt - on account of Western Breeders Alliance (Darling View Stud, Einoncliff Park and Westbury Park)

Lot 82 received a huge update when his half-brother Beauty Joy (Sebring) was placed in the G1 Stewards’ Cup and the G3 Chinese Club Challenge Cup in Hong Kong alongside his victories in the G3 Lion Rock Trophy H. and the G3 Premier Cup. In addition, Beauty Joy, named Talladega when racing in Australia, won the Listed JC Roberts S.

This son of Starspangledbanner is the sixth foal from four-time stakes winner Impressive Jeuney (Jeune {GB}) who was served by Aysar last spring.

Lot 249 - Leonardo Da Hinchi x Fine Approach (New Approach {Ire}), colt- on account of Gold Front Thoroughbreds

The sire of Lot 249, Leonardo Da Hinchi, recently got off the mark as a sire when his daughter Golden Kathleen became his first winner.

This colt's dam, Fine Approach (New Approach {Ire}), won seven races and has produced three winners from three foals to race. Most recent of those was Seven Iron (Awesome Rock), who broke his maiden at Pinjarra, while Paigey’s Turn (Choisir) has won four races.
