Looking Ahead puts the spotlight on runners of interest across Australia and New Zealand. Whether they are a particularly well-bred or high-priced runner having their first or second start, a promising galloper returning to the track or a horse which has trialled particularly well, we’ll aim to give you something to follow.
Three exciting runners are set to hit the track across Australia on Saturday, including So You Think (NZ) and Written Tycoon 2-year-olds looking to win on debut in stakes company and a trial-winning son of All Too Hard looking to win on debut at Doomben.
Morphetville, Race 5, 3.17pm AEDT (2.47pm local), Listed Cinderella S., $120,000, 1050m
Campari Twist, 2-year-old filly (So You Think {NZ} x Bitter Twist {California Dane})
The Matt Laurie-trained Campari Twist will travel to Adelaide on Saturday to make her debut in the Listed Cinderella S.
The promising filly is the fifth foal from the California Dane mare Bitter Twist, who was a winner over 1000 metres. Bitter Twist has been a reliable producer with all four runners to race being winners, with the best of them being the three-time winner Old Fashioned (Dissident). There is a lot of depth to this female family with Campari Twist’s second dam Inspect (Integra) placing in the Listed Australia Day Cup and also being a full sister to the outstanding eight-time Group 1 winner Intergaze (Integra).

Bitter Twist has since foaled a Playing God yearling filly, a weanling filly by Gingerbread Man and was most recently served in the spring by Aysar.
Campari Twist was a $300,000 purchase by Carringbush Park from the draft of Sledmere Stud at the 2023 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale.
Doomben, Race 4, 2.57pm AEDT (1.57pm local), Tattersall’s Life Members QTIS Jewel Prelude 2YO (C&G) Plate , $125,000, 1100m
All Inclusive, 2-year-old gelding (All Too Hard x Lonyx {Lonhro})
All Inclusive, a son of Vinery Stud’s proven stallion All Too Hard, will debut at Doomben for Sunshine Coast trainer David Vandyke after an impressive trial win on his hometrack on February 6.
The exciting gelding is the fourth foal from the Lonhro mare Lonyx, who won two races at 1200 metres. She is very well-related being a half-sister to two individual stakes winners in Sexy Eyes (Written Tycoon), the winner of the G3 Gosford Belle of the Turf H., and Tina Mesina (Jet Spur) who was victorious in Listed BRC Nudgee H.

This promising colt was consigned by his breeder - Segenhoe Stud - at the 2023 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale. He was knocked down to Kia Ora Stud and TFI for $550,000.
The Annabel Neasham-trained Yoshinobu is out of Total Attraction a three-time scorer and Group 2 placegetter and is a half-brother to the Listed victress Pretty In Pink (Sebring). Total Attraction has a weanling colt half-brother by Street Boss (USA) before being part of the exciting young stallion Home Affairs book last spring.

Yoshinobu won the most recent of his two trials and will debut in the hands of Regan Bayliss.
Looking back
Our Friday selections fared okay, Silmarillion (Too Darn Hot {GB}) did well in the wet conditions at Canterbury to take third place, while Bengal (Zoustar) was scratched. At Canberra Picksix (Capitalist) did his best work late to claim victory in Race 2.
