Launceston: Listed Gold Sovereign S., $150,000, 1200m

Always travelling like the winner, Geegees Mistruth (Wordsmith) made it four from four and two in a row at Listed level with another smart performance.

A homebred for the Geard family who stand her G3 Debonair S.-winning sire - she is one of the eight stakes winners for that son of Testa Rossa; noting that all but one of those have the “Geegee” name!

Geegees Mistruth is the third live foal produced by the unplaced Miss Mana (Jetball), also dam of the handy Wordsmith gallopers Geegeeluckystar (six wins) and Gee Gee Manpower (three wins).

Slipping to Wordsmith last spring, Miss Mana had a filly by him in 2022.

Miss Mana’s dam Just A Doll (Sackford {USA}) was not represented by any winners but her dam is a half-sister to the G1 South Australian Oaks winner Lady Liberty (NZ) (Noble Bijou {USA}).

Also from this family are the elite-level winners Inference, Jacquinot and Facing The Music (NZ) (Sackford {USA}).

Geegees Mistruth carries three strains of Star Kingdom (Ire) - Star Affair, Biscay and Todman - and two of Vain; plenty of speed influence!
