He’s now into his fourth year of residence at Yulong and Chief Operating Officer Sam Fairgray marvels at how he continues to produce outstanding results.

Written Tycoon has been in Australia’s top 10 stallions for the last eight seasons, highlighted by his Champion Sire title in 2020/21.

He is on track to make it nine consecutive top 10 finishes, as he currently sits eighth on the General Sires’ list, with 110 winners and $7.78 million in earnings.

“He’s stood at a few different farms and we have been fortunate to get him in his twilight years.

“He’s had a great year with his 2-year-olds and he had another 3-year-old stakes winner last weekend.”

Raikoke became his sire’s 61st individual stakes winner when he took out the G3 Zeditave S. at Caulfield last Saturday. Earlier, Captured By Love had become black-type winner number 60 when she won the G2 Matamata Breeders’ S. in New Zealand.

The stallion’s daughters Lady Of Camelot and Kuroyanagi filled the minor placings in the G1 Blue Diamond S.

Written Tycoon is also the sire of this season’s R. Listed Karaka Millions 2YO winner, Velocious.

In all, he has nine stakes winners across Australia and New Zealand this season.

“He’s had three seasons at Yulong and we manage his numbers now to try and give him longevity. He’s just a great stallion,” Fairgray said.

“When the time comes and he’s had enough, we will look after him. He’s just a great horse to have around.”
