Jockey Kasi Boxall hasn’t ridden in a race since October 2007 and will make her comeback at Hobart on Sunday where she rides April's Dance (Needs Further) for Rhonda Hall in the opening event. “I only had a month of my apprenticeship to go when I became pregnant, so I decided to become a mum and put racing aside,” Boxall told Racingandsports.com.au.

“I've been riding trackwork, trials, and jumpouts. … I've been working for Stuart (Gandy) for 10 years, so that's been really good. They're lovely people to work for, very laid-back, and they know I have a family of my own. But I've always wanted to come back and race ride, and I thought now's my opportunity.”

Boxall tips the scales at just 46kg.

After the Ashland, Todd Pletcher added:

“She's always been a high-quality filly. She's always trained like she wants to run longer and I think she proved that today, getting the opportunity to go two turns and finishing with good energy. So, fingers crossed (heading into the Kentucky Oaks).”

He’s honest and now he’s back to the sprint trips, he’s racing really well,” Avdulla told Racingnews.hkjc.com.

Oka Sho for Champion 2YO

“Everything is on track,” trainer Yoichi Kuroiwa told NetKeiba.com after the filly's Friday gallop. “She went faster than I as expecting and it seemed so easy to do. Today was perfect. The weather is a bit worrying, but I've trained her in a way where she can adapt to heavy ground.”

She won the G1 Hanshin Juvenile Fillies over this trip back in December and is unbeaten in three starts.
