In a recent announcement, Inglis revealed the newest addition to its 2024 Inglis Chairman’s Sale: Tutta La Vita (The Autumn Sun). Presented by her trainer, Chris Waller Racing, she will be offered as a racing and breeding prospect in the supplementary catalogue.
Waller intends to have the Group 1-placed daughter of The Autumn Sun participate in the upcoming Queensland winter carnival, with potential entries in the G2 The Roses and the G1 Queensland Oaks, pending approval from her new ownership.
Inglis CEO – Bloodstock Sales Sebastian Hutch is thrilled with the latest addition to the 2024 Inglis Chairman’s Sale, “There have been instances in the past where certain fillies meet some criteria but it’s very rare one meets all of them. Tutta La Vita has a proper pedigree, her dam Negotiate has been a really fantastic mare and produced a Group 1 winner (Secret Agenda).

“It is a family that’s going to continue to produce over the next five, 10, 15 years. Ultimately, I think Tutta La Vita will be a significant part of this family. Probably something that hadn’t occurred to me until you really investigated her profile is that she’s a 7th of November foal.
“She was particularly effective in the spring and was at a significant age disadvantage relative to a lot of her peers. It’s just hard not to imagine Tutta La Vita maturing and developing in the way that a lot of good fillies have done under the tutelage of Chris Waller over the years. She fits the profiles of those that showed good form at three and they get better at four, and then they get to five and six and they’re just rock stars.
“It is not inconvincible trajectory for Tutta La Vita. She’s got top class form already and she never achieved anything else she’s already got a hugely appealing profile as a broodmare. I think it’s just the fact there’s so much upside is really exciting.”

Commenting on the prospect of offering more race fillies this year, Hutch said, “It is especially exciting to be able to offer fillies that can race on. For whatever reason it is probably not something that we’ve had a lot of in the past.
“Between Tutta La Vita, Kimochi and C’est Magique, who are just an example of three fillies that someone can basically buy and have running in Group 1s next season. In the case of Tutta La Vita possibly even running in a Group 1s (Queensland Oaks) as soon as a few weeks after the sale.
“Kimochi is one if somebody wants a good seven furlong to a mile horse. There are great opportunities for her in that distance range and plenty of filly and mare restricted races.

“There’s great opportunities for all buyers but the race fillies engage a different profile of buyer in the sale. You’ll see and expect all the obvious people to have some interest but it also engages some slightly different people, which is great.”
Consistent and classy
Tutta La Vita broke her maiden at start three as a juvenile at Rosehill over 1400 metres in June. Returning in the spring, Waller underlined his opinion of the filly by running her in the G3 Up And Coming S. she finished sixth beaten 2.67l behind the subsequent Group 1 winner Tom Kitten (Harry Angel {Ire}).
Two starts later Tutta La Vita finished third in the G1 Flight S. to the dual Group 1 winner Tropical Squall (Prized Icon) but beat home the likes of Tiz Invincible (I Am Invincible).
She then showed her class and tenacity. Facing the colts and geldings in the G1 Spring Champion S. Tutta La Vita ran a bold fourth in the 2000-metre feature won by Tom Kitten.
Returning in the autumn, she again was placed behind Tropical Squall in the G1 Surround S. but again beat home a high-class field that included, Zardozi (Kingman {GB}), Kimochi (Brave Smash {Jpn}) and Learning To Fly (Justify {USA}).
Tutta La Vita two starts later, tested the gun Kiwi filly Orchestral (NZ) (Savabeel) in the G1 Vinery Stud S. making a bold mid-race move due to the slow tempo, Tutta La Vita nearly stole the show with the G1 New Zealand Derby victress needing to pull out all the stops to defeat the filly.
She then tackled the 2400 metres of the G1 Australian Oaks finishing fifth behind Autumn Angel (The Autumn Sun), Zardozi, Orchestral and the Group 1 winner Quintessa (NZ) (Shamus Award).

From only 11 starts Tutta La Vita has already amassed more than $500,000 in prizemoney.
Stellar family
Tutta La Vita is from the first crop of The Autumn Sun, a son of the great Redoute’s Choice who stands at Arrowfield Stud. Tutta La Vita comes from a debut crop that includes the G1 Australian Oaks victress Autumn Angel and G2 Silver Shadow S. winner Autumn Ballet, who also claimed the G3 Black Opal S.
The filly’s dam, Negotiate (Red Ransom {USA}) was unraced but has proven a terrific producer. She is the dam of the G1 Robert Sangster S. winner Secret Agenda (Not A Single Doubt), who won seven races in total, including the G2 Sapphire S., the G3 Gucci S. and the G3 How Now S.
Additionally, Secret Agenda was placed in the G1 Robert Sangster S. on a previous occasion and fourth in the G1 Goodwood H.

Negotiate’s other foals, include the speedy juvenile Stellar Pauline (Not A Single Doubt), a placegetter in the G2 Sweet Embrace S., the G3 Gimcrack S. and the R. Listed Magic Millions 2YO Classic.
The Group 3-placed Donandkim (Smart Missile) and Sweetner (Snitzel), who was placed in the G3 Blue Diamond Prelude (Filles) are other produce of Negotiate.
Meanwhile, Tom Maginer paid $500,000 to secure Tutta La Vita’s half-brother by Snitzel at the 2024 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale.
Negotiate foaled a colt by Darley’s Group 1-producing sire Too Darn Hot (GB) in November.

Tutta La Vita was bred by Arrowfield Stud, Planette Thoroughbred and Belford Productions. She was offered by Arrowfield Stud at the 2022 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale where Kevin Kelly paid $300,000 for her.
Commenting on his decision to sell, part-owner Kevin Payne said, “In a perfect world I wouldn’t be selling Tutta La Vita, I love her and I truly believe she is a Group 1 winner in the making but when you race a lot of horses you need to trade some of the good ones sometimes to keep the business running the way you’d like and it’s just the timing thing that she will be offered for public auction.
“She’s perfectly sound, she has an enormous pedigree which I think she will only make even stronger over the next year or two or three and whoever buys her will have the opportunity to run her in a Group 1 within a month of owning her if they choose because that’s what Chris (Waller) has her set for.

“Tutta La Vita is the perfect physical, she has the most magnificent action and such a beautiful temperament, her future really is fantastically bright.
“Her performance two starts back in the G1 Vinery Stud Stakes was extraordinary, she was unlucky not to win and that was a race that was billed as a match race between Orchestral and Zardozi but she split them and almost spoiled the party.

“She’s a three-time Group 1 placegetter and is right up there with the best 3-year-old fillies in the country.’’
Other confirmed supplementary entries for the Chairman’s Sale include G1 Australian Oaks runner-up So Dazzling (NZ) (So You Think {NZ}), stakes winners Street Gossip (So You Think) and West Of Dalby (Santos), as well as a breeding right in Yulong’s exciting young stallion Pierata.
