Looking Ahead puts the spotlight on runners of interest across Australia and New Zealand. Whether they are a particularly well-bred or high-priced runner early in its career chasing maiden success, a promising galloper returning to the track or a horse which has trialled particularly well, we’ll aim to give you something to follow.

On Tuesday, the expensive 3-year-old filly Mrs Supergrass (I Am Invincible) is set to make her second start at Sale, and a consistent Savabeel gelding is looking for his first win also at Sale.

Mrs Supergrass , 3-year-old filly (I Am Invincible x Crown Witness {Star Witness})

The well-bred Mrs Supergrass is set to make her second start over 1100 metres for Cranbourne trainer Gavin Bedggood at Sale. At her first start she ran a very creditable third at Cranbourne on March 22 over 1000 metres where she was only narrowly beaten.

Mrs Supergrass is a daughter of Australia’s Champion stallion I Am Invincible and is out of the Star Witness mare Crown Witness. She was a three-time winner over sprint distances including the G3 Quezette S. She comes from a solid family being out of a South African Group 1 winner in Noble Heir (Saf) (Kahal {GB}).

Mrs Supergrass was an expensive purchase at the sales costing Bahen Bloodstock $500,000 at the 2022 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale from the draft of Yarraman Park Stud.
