Stefi Magnetica (All Too Hard) picked quite the race to break her black type maiden in and in doing so she created a nice bit of breeding history with her dam Mid Summer Music (Oamaru Force) taking out the same race in 2012.
Bred by Cressfield Thoroughbreds, she was sold by them to Cunningham Thoroughbreds/Clarke Bloodstock/Bjorn Baker Racing for $140,000 at the 2022 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale. She is the 25th stakes winner and fifth Group 1 winner for her Vinery Stud based sire and the second stakes winner for her 11 times winning dam, also dam of the G3 Typhoon Tracy S. winner Hellfest (Fastnet Rock).
Served last spring by All Too Hard having missed to him the previous season, Mid Summer Music had her yearling colt by Bivouac sell to Scott Waters for $100,000 at the Magic Millions in January.
Mid Summer Magic has as her third dam the G1 Irish 1000 Guineas winner Black Satin (Ire) (Linacre {Ire}), dam of the G1 winner Czaravich (USA) and fifth dam of the G2 Australia S. winner Jigsaw.

Stamping himself as one of this season's finest juveniles, Broadsiding (Too Darn Hot {GB}) could not have been any more impressive racing away by four one-quarter lengths. The Godolphin home-bred is one of the nine stakes winners (and two dual Group 1 winners) for his exciting young Darley sire who is proving quite the international stallion - those stakes winners coming in six different countries!
Broadsiding is one of only two live foals produced by the two times winner Speedway (Street Cry {Ire}) who died young - her only other foal being the yet to race Tony Gollan trained 3-year-old No Brakes (Lonhro) who was second of three in a Deagon trial last week. Too Darn Hot hails from the same family as his great, great grandsire Mr Prospector (USA) and is relishing further strains of that great stallion; Broadsiding boasting a 5 X 4 cross. All but two of his other stakes winners are line-bred to Mr Prospector with his other dual Group 1 winner Fallen Angel (GB) owning a particularly interesting pedigree - line-bred to Too Darn Hot's third dam Delsy (Fr) (Abdos {Fr}).

Fawkner Park (Ire) (Zoffany {Ire}) just keeps racing well, this win his third black-type success from his current six start campaign. Bred by Lisbrook, he was purchased by Joseph O'Brien for €46,000 at the 2020 Goffs Orby Yearling Sale and by Blandford Bloodstock, Bennett Racing and Annabel Neasham Racing for 120,000 gns at the 2022 Tattersalls Autumn Horses In Training Sale.
One of the 62 stakes winners for his late sire who shuttled to Coolmore on four occasions, he is a half-brother to the 2022 G2 Herbert Power S. and Listed Ansett Classic winner Saracen Knight (Ire) (Camelot {GB}) out of the lightly raced Za’Hara (Ire) (Raven’s Pass {USA}). Za’Hara’s Group 1 placed dam Opera Comique (Fr) (Singspiel {Ire}) is a half-sister to the Group 1 galloper Belmez (USA) and she also produced the G1 Arlington Million winner Debussy (Ire) (Diesis {GB}) and the G3 Princess Elizabeth S. winner Laugh Aloud (GB) (Dubawi {Ire}).
Fawkner Park is line-bred to the "cousins" Northern Dancer (Can) and Halo (USA) who hail from the same family as Zoffany's grandsire Danehill (USA).

Relishing the step up to the 3200 metres, Alegron (Teofilo {Ire}) put in the big strides late to add another staying feature to his resume - one which also includes the 2022 Listed VRC St Leger and G3 Kingston Town S. He won both of those races for his breeders Godolphin who placed him on an Inglis digital sale in November last year - claimed by Bjorn Baker for $40,000 on the back of the gelding being declared a Grade 4 roarer.
One of the 115 stakes winners for his G1 National S. and G1 Dewhurst S. winning former shuttling sire, Alegron is the first foal for the very good race mare Alegria (Medaglia d'Oro {USA}), a winner of three metropolitan races who was four times placed at Group level. She missed the two years after producing Alegron with her 2-year-old Lanterns (Epaulette) unplaced in a couple of recent Flemington jump-outs for the James Cummings stable.

Having her first start for the Chris Waller stable having been purchased by Tom Magnier for $1.7 million at the recent Inglis Chairman's Sale, C'est Magique (Zoustar) is G1 Tattersalls Tiara bound after this dominant performance.
Bred by Neville Begg, she is the 55th stakes winner for her Widden Stud based sire and the second for her city placed winning dam Yau Chin (Tobougg {Ire}) - also dam of Widden's G1 Blue Diamond S. winner Written By.
Again served by Zoustar last spring, Yau Chin - who had missed the previous season, had her Capitalist yearling filly go through the Easter ring this year; purchased by the China Horse Club for $380,000.
The dam of another five winners, Yau Chin does not have much black-type close up - her third dam being a half-sister to the G1 Australian Guineas winning successful sire Pins. C'est Magique boasts duplications of two influential broodmares within five generations - Fairy Bridge (USA) (Bold Reason {USA}) via her sons Fairy King (USA) and Sadler's Wells (USA) and Dancing Show (USA) (Nijinsky {Can}) via her grandson Redoute's Choice and son Umatilla (NZ).And she is a descendant of the famed mare Sceptre (GB) (Persimmon {GB}).
G3 Gunsynd Classic, $200,000, 1600m
Giving nothing else a chance getting clear early in the straight, Bases Loaded (Deep Field) just kept going - recording his first stakes victory and his second overall from just eight starts. Bred by Willaroon Thoroughbreds, he made his way through the sales ring on two occasions - sold as a weanling by Rushton Park at the Inglis Great Southern to Hunter Valley Bloodstock for $290,000 and by Tyreel Stud to China Horse Club/Newgate Bloodstock/Starlight for $400,000 at the 2022 Inglis Easter Yearling Sale.
Bases Loaded is the fifth foal and second winner for the unraced Passarelle (Not A Single Doubt) whose daughter Shebringzit (Sebring) is Group 3 placed. Making up for missing a run as emergency in the G1 Stradbroke, Freedom Rally (Rubick) lifted gamely late to record his first win at stakes level. A home-bred for Grandlodge Thoroughbreds, he is the 13th stakes winner for his Swettenham Stud based sire.
He is the sixth foal and one of the two winners for his city winning dam Ipioga (Niello) who ran third to Small Minds (Canny Lad) in the G1 Australasian Oaks. Served last year by Rubick's son Yes Yes Yes after foaling a Puissance de Lune (Ire) colt, Ipioga has a yet to race 3-year-old called Lunar Powered (Puissance de Lune) in the Mick Kent stable.

Digging deep as the challenges came in and outside of her, Willinga Beast (Snitzel) recorded her first win at stakes level and just her second win having taken out a Canterbury maiden in March 2022.
Bred by Arrowfield Pastoral, she was sold by them to Willinga Park Operations/Australian Bloodstock at the 2021 Magic Millions - making her way through the ring at the recent Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale where Arrowfield claimed her back for $675,000 from the draft of Yarraman Park Stud.
The 145th stakes winner for her Arrowfield based four times Champion Sire, Willinga Beast is one of the three winners for the imported winner Time Check (USA) (Shamardal {USA}).

Going one better than he did when a 50-1 shot in the G3 Hyperion S. a couple of weeks ago, Let's Galahvant (Galah) was so good to the line recording his 12th win from 40 starts. Bred by Rangeview Stud and sold by them to Pearce Racing for $10,000 at the 2020 Magic Millions Perth Yearling Sale (Book 2), he is the sole stakes winner for his sire, a dual Group winning son of Redoute's Choice.
His dam is the placed mare Secret Crush (So Secret) who has also produced by Galah the winners Gallant Ranger, Bush Icon and Yourtheoneforme. A mare who has not had a great deal of luck in recent times - slipping last spring to Wandjina and losing her previous two foals by Royal Meeting (Ire) and Long Leaf, Secret Crush was served last spring by Nicconi.

Doing a great job turning his form around from a 13 1/2 length defeat in last Saturday's Listed Lord Mayors Cup, Sir Lucan (Ire) (Camelot {GB}) was in the winner's circle for the first time since taking out the Listed Randwick City S. in March last year. Also a Listed winner in Ireland, he was bred by Coolmore and is one of the 61 stakes winners for his sire who stands at their Irish base.Sir Lucan is a full brother to the late Sir Dragonet (Ire), winner of the G1 W.S Cox Plate and the G1 Tancred S.
