Adding a second Guineas record - having won the Listed Canberra Guineas in March - Xidaki (Zoustar) was part of a quinella for his Widden Stud based sire with Miss Aria second.

A home-bred for bred A Pippos, he is out of the city winner Athanea (General Nediym) whose other three foals to race are all winners including the metropolitan winner Mufasta (Shamus Award).

Her two-year-old Homeric (Brutal {NZ}) is a yet to race member of the Peter & Paul Snowden stable. Served last spring by Portland Sky after foaling a Trapeze Artist filly, Athanea is a half-sister to the city winner Brahmos (Smart Missile) out of the lightly raced Jannah (Carnegie {Ire}) whose G3 Bloodhorse Breeders S. winning, G1 Golden Slipper S. runner-up half-sister Crowned Glory (Danehill {USA}) produced the Group 1 producing stallions Hallowed Crown and Needs Further.

Athanea's third dam is the wonderful Lady Giselle (Fr) (Nureyev {USA}) who produced two winners of the G1 Australian Guineas - Baryshnikov and the breed shaping stallion Zabeel (NZ). Also from her family is Athanea's dam sire Carnegie (Ire) whose grandam Derna (Fr) (Sunny Boy {Fr}) is the grandam of Lady Giselle.

One of Lady Giselle's 16 stakes winning descendant, Xidaki is line-bred to the mother/daughter Special (USA) (Forli {Arg})/Fairy Bridge (USA) (Bold Reason {USA}), the Kentucky Oaks heroine Lalun (USA) (Djeddah {Fr}) and Biscay's dam Magic Symbol (Makarpura {GB}).

Appreciating a step up in distance off consistent form, Mission Of Love (The Mission) gamely held off his rivals to record his first stakes victory - and his third win from 13 starts. Bred by The Ulandra Trust he is the second stakes winner for his Aquis Farm based G1 Champagne S. winning sire, a son of Choisir.

Sold by Lyndhurst Stud to Michael Kirby and John Symons for $120,000 at the 2021 Magic Millions Gold Coast March Yearling Sale, he is one of three winners for the unraced Hanaan (High Chaparral {Ire}).

Served last spring by Encryption having foaled a full brother to Mission Of Love in August, she has as her most recent foal the Chris Waller trained two-year-old Attentive (Better Than Ready) who was not far away at her Doomben debut a few weeks ago.

Hanaan's unraced dam Chatty One (Ire) (Storm Cat {USA}) is a daughter of Phone Chatter (USA) (Phone Trick {USA}) who was crowned US Champion 2YO Filly in 1993. She did a good job at stud producing the G2 Nassau County S. winner Cat Chat (USA) (Storm Cat) whilst another ten of her descendants are stakes winners.

Amongst that tally are the Group 1 winners Dixie Chatter (USA) (Dixie Union {USA}) and In Lingerie (USA) (Empire Maker {USA}) as well as the G2 Hawke's Bay Guineas winner Mongolian Falcon.

Mission Of Love is the seventh stakes winner (from 110 runners/70 winners) for the Choisir/High Chaparral combination.

Listed Glasshouse H., $300,000, 1400m

Never in any danger leading throughout, Punch Lane (So You Think {NZ}) was having his first crack at stakes level - doing a good job recording the sixth win of his 12 start career. His Coolmore Stud based sire's 57 stakes winner, Punch Lane was bred in South Australia by Mr PL Bennett, Mssbansemer/Brown and sold by Bombora Downs to Bahen Bloodstock and the William Street Syndicate for $220,000 at the 2021 Inglis Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale.

He is one of the five winners for the Listed C.S Hayes Memorial S. winner Cybercyn (Staaraq) who has also produced the metropolitan winner Headphones (Headwater).

A full sister to the stakes placed multiple city winner Cyber Dream, Cybercyn was served by Alabama Express last spring - foaling a Rubick filly in late October. Her yearling is a full sister to Punch Lane whilst her latest named foal is the three-year-old It'sreel (Highland Reel {Ire}) - a yet to race member of the Ben, Will & JD Hayes stable who has had a number of jump-outs including at Flemington second last week.

The 27th stakes winner (from 324 runners/202 winners) for the So You Think/Sir Tristram (Ire) combination, Punch Lane hails from the same family as the G1 Auckland Cup winner El Soldado (NZ) (Colombia {NZ}).
