Three exciting 3-year-old runners are set to hit the track across Australia on Wednesday. These include a promising Cosmic Force gelding resuming at Eagle Farm, a Trapeze Artist gelding out of a Group 1 winner chasse maiden success at Warwick Farm and a beautifully bred Almanzor (Fr) filly from the outstanding Eight Carat (GB) family makes her debut in that same race.

Give Me Space, 3-year-old gelding (Cosmic Force x Gwynethanne {NZ} {Handsome Ransom})

The well-related Give Me Space is set to have his second start over 1200 metres for Eagle Farm trainer Barry Lockwood on his home track on Wednesday. On debut in March, he ran a solid fourth at Doomben over 1200 metres behind the classy type Gin A Tonic (Better Than Ready). Since then, he has had a break and looked ready for this assignment when winning a trial impressively at Deagon on October 1 when defeating Concession (Pride Of Dubai) by 1l over 1050 metres.

Give Me Space is a son of Newgate Stud Farm’s exciting Cosmic Force and is out of the talented Handsome Ransom mare Gwynethanne (NZ) who was a seven-time winner in New Zealand from 1600 metres to 1800 metres. She also managed to place in the G2 Travis S. and the Listed Anzac H. as well as running fourth in the Listed Feilding Gold Cup.

She has had some very good success at stud leaving three winners with the best of them being Extra Time (Shooting To Win) who was successful four times including in the G3 National S. Her other two winners are Knight Batchelor (Alpine Eagle) and Shore To Happen (Impending).

Give Me Space was purchased by Livistona Grazing Company from the draft of Newgate Farm Park for $75,000 at the 2023 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale.

Sisu Spirit, 3-year-old gelding (Trapeze Artist x Lizzie L’Amour {NZ} {Zabeel {NZ}})

The well-bred Sisu Spirit is set to make his second start over 1300 metres for trainers Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott at Warwick Farm on Wednesday. He ran very well on debut when he ran second over 1200 metres at Newcastle on October 5 behind the promising French Ruler (Nicconi).

Sisu Spirit is by Widden Stud’s promising stallion in Trapeze Artist and is the first foal from the classy Lizzie L’Amour (NZ) (Zabeel {NZ}). She was a seven-time winner on the track including in the G1 New Zealand S. G1 Herbie Dyke S., G3 Waikato Gold Cup and the G2 Cal Isuzu S.

The family page has some lovely pedigree influences including Redoute’s Choice, Domesday, Zabeel, Sadler’s Wells (USA), Irish River (Fr), Bold Reason (USA), Northern Dancer (Can) and Biscay. Many of these are strong staying influences which would suggest that Sisu Spirit may be a promising staying 3-year-old.

Lizzie L’Amour since producing Sisu Spirit has left a 2-year-old filly by Trapeze Artist named Artissimo, a yearling filly by St Marks Basilica (Fr) and is due to foal to Anamoe early next month.

Sisu Spirit sold for $320,000 at the 2023 Inglis Easter Yearling Sale with Mt Hallowell Stud/Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott Racing/Kestrel/Mitchell Bloodstock being the successful purchaser from the draft of Widden Stud.

Diamond Show (NZ), 3-year-old filly (Almanzor {Fr} x Miss Zenella {NZ} {Zabeel {NZ}})

The Brad Widdop-trained Almanzor (Fr) filly Diamond Show (NZ) will make her debut at Warwick Farm over 1300 metres. She has had four trials to prepare for her debut assignment without showing too much on face value, but she definitely is bred to be a staying type of filly so should improve on whatever she does on debut.

Diamond Show's dam Miss Zenella (NZ) (Zabeel {NZ}) was a two-time winner on the track over 1700 metres and 2050 metres and managed to run second in the G1 Queensland Oaks. She has become a very handy broodmare leaving four individual winners including Miss Ella (NZ) (Iffraaj {GB}) who was the winner of the Listed Oaks Prelude amongst her two wins, Our Modena (NZ) (Tavistock {NZ}) who has been a five-time winner in New Zealand and Australia, Zendora (NZ) (Medaglia D’Oro {USA}) and Mutanaaseq (NZ) (Snitzel).

Looking Back

Socrazyinlove (I Am Invincible) won very nicely at Orange, she was dominant late and scored impressively. She should measure up to better company in the future.

Eagle Express (Alabama Express) was scratched, she will keep for another day.
