Bodyguard back to best ahead of Coolmore tilt
Bodyguard (I Am Invincible) atoned for his last start failure in the G2 Danehill S. with a spectacular trial win at Randwick on Tuesday morning. The 3-year-old colt, who won his first two starts as a juvenile, led by a considerable margin into the home straight and only extended his lead to score by 6.89l over a large field, all without much pressure from Zac Lloyd.
Owner and syndicator James Harron had entertained the idea of running the Peter Snowden-trained colt in his slot in the G1 The Everest, before leasing the slot to Go Bloodstock Australia for Lady Of Camelot (I Am Invincible).
His performance suggests he is gearing up for a solid effort in his likely next target, the G1 Coolmore Stud S. in November.
A $1,600,000 purchase from Emirates Park at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale for the James Harron Bloodstock Colt Partnership, Bodyguard is a grandson of G1 Golden Slipper S. winner Mossfun (Mossman), dam of G3 Festival S. victor Dajraan (GB) (Frankel {Ire}).
Busuttin Racing acquired Bodyguard’s half-brother by Capitalist at the Gold Coast this year for $300,000. Dam Tumooh (Fastnet Rock) has missed both seasons since, having visited Tassort, I Am Invincible, and Justify (USA).
Freedman unveils exciting juvenile prospect at Randwick
Michael Freedman trainee Extractor (Spirit Of Boom) put on an eye-catching performance in the juvenile colts and geldings heat at Randwick on Tuesday. Entering the straight deep in midfield, the debutante demonstrated an electric turn of foot to overtake Nordic Viking (So You Think {NZ}) and win the heat by 1.15l, beating several contenders who were having their second trial.
Offered by Eureka Stud at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale, Extractor was a $300,000 for Gandharvi Pty Ltd and Michael Freedman Racing, and is the second named foal from five-time winner Assertory (Not A Single Doubt), half-sister to G2 Bill Stutt S. runner-up Magic Jet (Magic Albert).
Assertory foaled a full brother last year, before missing when she revisited Champion Sire of Queensland Spirit Of Boom.
Capitalist filly shows killer instinct in debut trial
Sir Owen Glenn’s Go Bloodstock Australia unleashed a smart filly in the following juvenile trial at Randwick, when Lady Pankhurst (Capitalist) pounced on Mrs Flanders (Anders) in the shadows of the winning post to win by 0.48l. Trained by John Sargent, the 2-year-old filly out of G2 Wakeful S. winner Thunder Lady (NZ) (Mastercraftsman {Ire}) was having her debut trial.

Floating tunes up ahead of Big Dance showdown
A smart group of stayers were led home by Floating (Puissance De Lune {Ire}) in the first heat at Randwick on Tuesday morning, who finished 0.24l ahead of Harlow Mist (NZ) (Contributer {Ire}).

David Atkins presented a smart juvenile at the Tuesday morning trials in Newcastle, when 2-year-old gelding Buffalo (Written By) comfortably pulled away from the pack in the home straight for a dominant 4.44l win over Federal Reserve (Justify {USA}).
Owned and bred by Newcastle businessman Matt Chidgey, who also bred G2 Skyline S. winner Promitto (Divine Prophet), the juvenile was having his first public appearance.
G1 Blue Diamond S. winner Written By has chalked up fifty winners on the track so far, headed up by G2 Silver Slipper S. victor Straight Charge.
Special pedigree on show at Morphettville
Richard and Chantelle Jolly-trained Skadoosh (Valentia) beat out fellow debutantes Ashreign (Time To Reign) and Frothy Macaw (Anders) to win the juvenile heat at Morphettville on Tuesday morning by 1.7l. Out of a half-sister to G1 Al Quoz Sprint winner Amber Sky (Exceed And Excel), she was a $15,000 purchase for her trainers from the draft of Little Hills Pastoral Co at the Magic Millions Adelaide Yearling sale earlier this year.

Valentia passed away in September, having joined the ranks of Ben Leverink’s Adelaide Plains Bloodstock earlier in the year.
Classy pair jump out for Brownes
Emma-Lee and David Browne unleashed a pair of speedy juveniles in a Pakenham jump-out on Tuesday morning, where their unnamed geldings by I Am Immortal and Tagaloa crossed the line first in the 2-year-old heat.
The winner, by I Am Immortal out of Listed Ryder S. winner Niki Piki Milo (NZ) (Librettist {USA}) showed good speed out in front and could not be caught by the second-placed son of Tagaloa, out of Savvy Move (NZ) (Savabeel), who made a dash to finish close on his heels.
Sparta Racing Pty Ltd purchased the son of I Am Immortal for $14,000 at the Inglis Premier Yearling Sale, where he was offered by Stonehouse Thoroughbreds. At the same sale, they paid $15,000 for the 2-year-old by Tagaloa from the draft of Yulong Stud.
