The catalogue for the 2025 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale was released on December 8, 2024. Since then, a host of yearlings that will go through the ring at Inglis Oaklands have had their pedigrees enhanced, which is important information for vendors and buyers alike.

Lot 71 - Capitalist x Black Mamba (NZ) (Black Minnaloushe {USA}), filly - on account of Evergreen Stud Farm

This filly already boasts an impressive pedigree, with her dam, Black Mamba (NZ) (Black Minnaloushe {USA}), a seven-time winner on the track, including victories in the G1 Del Mar John C Mabee Handicap and two editions of the G2 Beverly Hills Handicap.

She is well-related, being a half-sister to G1 Australian Derby hero Roman Emperor (NZ) and the talented G2 Wellington Guineas winner Rios (NZ), both of whom went on to stand at stud.

Her pedigree received another significant update through her half-sister Ringhals (Street Cry {Ire}), who had already proven herself as a capable broodmare by producing the Listed Macau Derby victor Olympic - Simon Fubuki (Mac.) (Medaglia D’Oro {USA}). Now, Ringhals has further enhanced her record with her daughter by Zoustar, Arts Object, who recently won the Listed Tails Stakes and placed fourth in the Listed Members' Handicap.

This well-bred Capitalist filly is now not only the daughter of an international Group 1 winner but also a half-sister to a mare that has produced two individual stakes winners. With such a strong pedigree, she holds significant residual value beyond her racing career.

Lot 231 - Wootton Bassett (GB) x Kansas Sunflower (NZ) (Mastercraftsman {Ire}), colt - on account of Gilgai Farm

Another colt from a strong pedigree, this striking grey is by boom stallion Wootton Bassett (GB) and is the fourth foal from the three-time winning and Group 3-placed mare Kansas Sunflower (NZ) (Mastercraftsman).

His pedigree received a significant boost in February through his half-sister Suntora (Toronado {Ire}). After breaking her maiden at Hamilton in early January, the Nick Ryan-trained filly elevated her credentials further by winning the Listed Strutt Stakes at Hobart on February 9.

This isn’t the only recent update to his family’s record. The talented Palmetto (NZ) (Ghibellines) was placed in the G3 Parramatta Cup last weekend at Rosehill, adding further black type to the pedigree.

His family boasts an abundance of stakes winners, with an impressive roster of international Group 1 stars, including Kelina (Ire) (Frankel {GB}), Call The Wind (GB) (Frankel {GB}), Friendly Soul (GB) (Frankel {GB}), We Are (Ire) (Dansili {GB}), Dominant (Ire) (Cacique {Ire}), and Aristia (Ire) (Starspangledbanner).

Lot 280 - Trapeze Artist x Lone (Sepoy ), filly - on account of Widden Stud

This lot’s half-brother, Philosopher (Zoustar), had already earned his first piece of black-type when placing third in the Listed Blue Diamond Preview (c&g) well before the Inglis Premier Yearling Sale catalogue went to print. However, the Enver Jusufovic-trained runner elevated his credentials even further with a victory in the Listed WJ Adams Stakes.

The five-year-old son of Widden Stud’s Zoustar has demonstrated remarkable longevity, progressing from his stakes-placing as a two-year-old to a consistent performer at a higher level. While he didn’t feature prominently in the G1 Lightning Stakes at his last start, his strong recent form justified his shot at elite company.

It's not just Philosopher making an impact—this filly’s brother, Lone Artist (Trapeze Artist), has since broken his maiden at Bathurst after the catalogue was printed. Now trained by Liam Birchley, he looks poised to build on his record in Queensland.

This family boasts a rich history of talented sprinting gallopers, including Atmospherical (Northern Meteor), I Like It Easy (Pierro), and Gai’s Choice (General Nediym). Additionally, this filly shares a close pedigree link to Group 3 winner Facile (Trapeze Artist), as they are by the same sire and hail from the same family.
