Looking Ahead highlights runners of interest across Australia and New Zealand. Whether they are an exceptionally well-bred or high-priced runner early in their career chasing maiden success, a promising galloper returning to the track or a horse that has trialled particularly well, we’ll aim to give you something to follow.
Two exciting 3-year-olds are hitting the track at Kilmore on Tuesday. A promising Brutal (NZ) filly looks hard to beat, and a Brazen Beau gelding brings strong form to his maiden event.

Brutalina, 3-year-old filly (Brutal (NZ) x La Paris {Falvelon})
The Mick Price and Michael Kent Jnr-trained Brutal (NZ) filly Brutalina will be having her fourth start at Kilmore on Tuesday.
She has looked good in her career so far, placing in two of her three starts, and looks hard to beat in this maiden event.
This well-bred filly is out of the unraced Falvelon mare La Paris, she is a half-sister to Ringa Ringa Rosie (Bradbury’s Luck) who was a Listed-winning 2-year-old who was also placed in the G1 TJ Smith Classic.

She has also been successful at stud leaving three individual winners including the stakes winner Hightail (Written Tycoon) who won the G3 Gold Coast Guineas and The Listed Gosford Guineas, she has also left Poppin’ Champagne (Written Tycoon) who has been a three-time winner and Listed placed.
Since producing Brutalina, La Paris has produced a 2-year-old colt named Aussie Spirit (Doubtland), a yearling filly by Written Tycoon, and a weanling colt by Written Tycoon.
Brutalina was passed in short of her $80,000 reserve at the 2023 Inglis Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale.

My Friday Beau, 3-year-old gelding (Brazen Beau x Friday Hussy {Hussonet {USA}})
The well-related My Friday Beau (Brazen Beau) is chasing deserved maiden success at Kilmore on Tuesday, he has been knocking on the door having placed four times for trainers Ben, Will and JD Hayes.
My Friday Beau is out of the Hussonet (USA) mare Friday Hussy who was a five-time winner from 1900 metres to 2050 metres. She has already had success at stud leaving five winners with the best of them being the nine-time winner and Listed-placed gelding Huntly Castle (Sebring).

She is very well-related being a blood-sister to the Horse of the Year and seven-time Group 1 winner Weekend Hussler (Hussonet {USA}).
Friday Hussy since producing My Friday Beau, has left a 2-year-old gelding named Poets Artistry (Trapeze Artist), a weanling colt by Trapeze Artist, and was subsequently served by Paulele last spring but she unfortunately missed.
My Friday Beau was passed in short of his $120,000 reserve at the 2023 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale.
