Lot 279 – Snitzel x Acquired (NZ) (O’Reilly {NZ}) filly – $550,000
North Bloodstock made a major statement by securing the top-priced lot of the sale, a striking Snitzel filly from the draft of Highgrove Stud for $550,000.
The ninth live foal from the quality mare Acquired (NZ), a stakes-placed seven-time winner, the filly is a sister to Splintex who was successful in the G2 Arrowfield 3YO Sprint, G2 Bobbie Lewis Handicap, and the G3 Hall Mark Stakes, another half-sibling is Invictus Salute (Exceed And Excel) who was successful at Listed level.
“She’s a beautiful type, great length, great scope,” said Mick Malone of North Bloodstock. “She has a lot of O’Reilly about her, her mother was a beautiful mare, and she looks a bit like her mum.

Lot 241 – Zoustar x Thai Noon (Ire) (Dansili {GB}) colt – $500,000
Yulong Stud continued their strong association with Zoustar, going to $500,000 for Lot 241, an athletic colt from Holbrook Thoroughbreds.
This imposing colt is a half-brother to Steinem (Frankel {GB}), a dual Group 2 and Group 3 winner. Yulong purchased Steinem under the Panthalassa Syndicate banner at the 2024 Inglis Chairman’s Sale for $800,000.
At this stage, Yulong Stud plans to re-offer the colt as a yearling next year, as Sam Fairgray explained:
“He’s a very attractive colt, with plenty of strength and substance about him. He moved really well and he’s exactly the type of horse buyers will be looking for as a yearling.

“We’ll take him back to Victoria now, grow him out, and prepare him for a yearling sale next year.”
The colt’s dam, Thai Noon (Ire), has since been served by Coolmore Stud’s exciting young sire Home Affairs.
Lot 193 – Wootton Bassett (GB) x Salome (Unencumbered) colt – $420,000
Coolmore Australia added to their growing Wootton Bassett arsenal, with Tom Magnier signing for Lot 193, a standout colt for $420,000.
Offered by Cornerstone Stud, the flashy black colt is out of Salome, a dual-winning and stakes-placed daughter of Unencumbered.
Salome is also a half-sister to Ringerdingding (Sebring) who was a five-time winner inclduing in the G2 Sandown Guineas, G3 Carbine Club Stakes and the Listed Springtime Handicap.
“He was a real standout from the first time we saw him,” said Tom Moore of Coolmore.

“Wootton Bassett is a stallion we have enormous faith in, and he’s on a sharp upward trajectory. This colt might end up at a major sale like Easter next year.”
Wootton Bassett returns to Australia this spring at a service fee of $385,000 (inc GST).
Lot 60 – Anamoe x Kiki Express (Sepoy) filly – $360,000
Support for Anamoe’s first crop continued with Ciaron Maher Bloodstock stepping in early, securing Lot 60, a classy, well-balanced filly for $360,000 from the Newgate Consignment draft.
Out of the Listed Debutant Stakes winner Kiki Express (Sepoy), this filly is her first foal and is slated to follow a similar prep to Maher’s earlier pinhook Icarian Dream (Blue Point {Ire}).
“Ciaron loved Anamoe as a racehorse and supported him before he had any foals on the ground,” said Will Bourne, Ciaron Maher’s Head of Bloodstock.

“We’ll actually do the same thing as the Blue Point filly Icarian Dream and qualify her (for the Magic Millions race series) so we’ll have the risk of losing her if another trainer wants to buy her, but we’ll put her back through the ring.”
Kiki Express after producing this filly was later served by Group 1-winning sprinter Ozzmosis.
Lot 239 – Snitzel x Tell Your Mama (USA) (Blame {USA}) filly – $350,000
Kaha Nui Farm added four new purchases to their weanling haul, with their standout buy being a quality Snitzel filly from Attunga Stud for $350,000.
From an elite international family that includes Home Affairs and Russian Revolution, the filly is out of the American mare Tell Your Mama (USA) (Blame (USA}), whose dam Taletobetold (USA) (Tale Of The Cat {USA}) won eight races including three at Listed level in America.
Nicky White bid $350,000 for the attractive filly from the draft of Attunga Stud and she was very happy with her purchase, she was undecided if she would re-sell at a yearling sale or if she would be tempted to keep her as a racing and breeding prospect.

“She is a lovely balanced filly, really athletic and is a good medium size.
“I would love to pop her back through an Australian yearling sale but we also have the option of racing ourselves which we have done before and aren’t against the idea.
“She could make a potential broodmare, these types are very hard to get.”

When asked about her admiration for Snitzel, who is continuing to do an amazing job White commented “Snitzel is clearly one of my favourites, I haven't had a mare good enough to send to him, yet!, so I thought I better buy one through the back door at a weanling sale.”
Tell Your Mama was re-mated with Snitzel subsequently, but unfortunately missed.
Lot 50 – Exceed And Excel x Je Suis Belle (Bel Esprit) filly – $320,000
Silverdale Farm are long-time supporters of the Magic Millions Gold Coast Weanling Sale, and they struck early when securing Lot 50 from the draft of Burnewang North Pastoral, an athletic filly by Exceed And Excel out of Je Suis Belle (Bel Esprit), an eight-time winner who claimed the Listed Ascot Handicap in Queensland.
“She was a quality filly and the pick of the sale for us,” Rob Petith from Silverdale Farm said.
“She is bred on the Exceed And Excel over Bel Esprit cross that we are very fond of, having sold Eneeza for $1.1 million, and she went on to become a very good 2-year-old and a multiple stakes winner.

“She is out of a stakes-winning mare and has a very good deep Woodlands family page. I actually worked with the filly’s fourth dam, Ice Cream Sundae, so that is going back a bit.”
“We have had good success buying from this sale with Autumn Glow, who has won at Group 2 level, and Kaizad, who has won at Group 3 level. We made money off both, and they went on to become good horses.
“With a filly with this quality of pedigree, it is great to have a back-up plan if we don’t put her through a sale and decide to race her. She has plenty of quality and is a good physical.”
“They aren’t making any more Exceed And Excel's, and we were actually the underbidder on the other one that sold well today, it is his last crop.”

Since producing this high-quality filly, Je Suis Belle has been served by Golden Slipper winner Shinzo.
