Looking Ahead highlights runners of interest across Australia and New Zealand. Whether they are an exceptionally well-bred or high-priced runner early in their career chasing maiden success, a promising galloper returning to the track or a horse that has trialled particularly well, we’ll aim to give you something to follow.
Three exciting runners are looking for success across Australia on Wednesday. A well-bred Wootton Bassett (GB) colt chases maiden success at Sale, and juveniles by Cosmic Force and Capitalist look to make their mark at Kensington.

Yamashita’s Gold, 2-year-old colt (Wootton Bassett (GB) x Fortune Of War {General Nediym})
The promising Wootton Bassett (GB) colt, Yamashita’s Gold is set to have his third start over 1113 metres at Sale for trainer Gavin Bedggood on Wednesday. He looked smart running second in Listed company behind Shining smile (Spirit Of Boom) on debut in January at Sandown, and he then ran a battling tenth in Group 3 company at his next start.
After a nice break and a couple of fitness jump outs, and trials, he looks well-placed for his resuming run in the hands of jockey Daniel Stackhouse.

Yamashita’s Gold is the ninth foal out of Fortune Of War (Gneral Nediym), she was a winner at 1200 metres and was Listed on the track. She has been a handy broodmare leaving three winners including Patch Of Theta (Zoustar), who has been a Group winner in Hong Kong, and Spoils (Snitzel) who was three times stakes placed as a juvenile.
Fortune Of War is very well-bred she is a half-sister to an incredible five individual Group winners all by different sires including Pretty Brazen (Braen Beau), Sertorius (Galileo {Ire}), Dollar For Dollar (High Chaparral {Ire}), Pretty Amazing (American Pharoah {USA}), and Clifton Red (Sebring).
Fortune Of War has since produced a yearling colt by Lonhro, a weanling filly by Splintex, and is due to foal to Playing God in October this year.
Yamashita’s Gold was purchased by Bahen Bloodstock for $105,000 from the draft of Edinburgh Park at the 2023 Magic Millions National Weanling Sale.
Kensington, Race 2, 1.35pm AEDT, The Autumn Sun @ Arrowfield 2YO Handicap, $60,000, 1100m
Raging Force, 2-year-old gelding (Cosmic Force x Miss Loren {Stryker})
The promising Raging Force (Cosmic Force) is set to attempt to go back-to-back at Kensington on Wednesday after tasting maiden success at Muswellbrook on June 1 for trainer Peter Snowden.
The son of Cosmic Force looks well up to performing at metropolitan level after his comfortable win in lower maiden grade at Muswellbrook, he has run second at the Wyong trials on June 16, to keep him self ticking-over and it would be no surprise to see him competitive in this juvenile event.
Raging Force is the first foal out of Miss Loren (Stryker), she was a winner over 1200 metres and was placed in the Listed Debutant Stakes.

While the family isn’t strong in terms of an abundance of black type within the page, Miss Loren is a half-sister to seven other individual winners including Andamooka Gem (Quest For Fame {GB}) who was a seven-time winner.
Since producing Raging Force, Miss Loren has produced a yearling colt by Captivant, a weanling colt by Zousain, and was subsequently served again by Zousain last spring.
Raging Force was purchased by Darby Racing for $150,000 from the draft of Mullaglass Stud at the 2024 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale.

Agatha, 2-year-old filly (Capitalist x Nayeli {More Than Ready {USA}})
The Lightning Thoroughbreds bred and owned Agatha (Capitalist) is set to make her debut at Kensington on Wednesday for her trainer Michael Freedman.
She has looked talented at the trials, winning her last one at Randwick on June 13 when defeating Little Iris (Too Darn Hot {GB}) over 1050 metres.
This well-bred filly is the sixth foal out of the More Than Ready (USA) mare Nayeli, she was very talented winning the G3 Chairman’s Stakes, G3 Nivison Stakes, and the Listed Fireball Stakes.
Capitalist | Standing at Newgate
She has made an outstanding start to her broodmare career leaving five winners from only five to race, including the stakes-placed duo of Heman (I Am Invincible) and Calgary Stampede - Gummy Gummy (HK) (Snitzel).
Deep in the pedigree is a long list of classy Group-winners including Kapchat (NZ) (Centaine), Kaphero (Danzero), Princesa (Danehill {USA}), Star Of Giselle (Reset), Solicit (Street Cry {Ire}) and Starelle (More Than Ready {USA}).
Nayeli, since producing Agatha, has left a weanling filly by I Am Invincible, and is due to foal to Capitalist in September this year.
