Looking Ahead highlights runners of interest across Australia and New Zealand. Whether they are an exceptionally well-bred or high-priced runner early in their career chasing maiden success, a promising galloper returning to the track or a horse that has trialled particularly well, we’ll aim to give you something to follow.
Two talented types are going head-to-head at Newcastle on Tuesday. A very well-related Zoustar 3-year-old colt takes on a consistent Alabama Express mare.

Nielsen Park, 3-year-old colt (Zoustar x She’s So High {I Am Invincible})
Nielsen Park, a son of Widden Stud’s Champion stallion Zoustar, will be having his second start at Newcastle for trainers Anthony and Sam Freedman on Tuesday.
He ran a solid race for fifth on debut at Kensington in March, where he battled on well behind the talented Farnicle (Farnan). Since then, he was sent for a break and has trialled three times in preparation for his resuming run.

Nielsen Park is the fifth foal from the talented She’s So High (I Am Invincible), who was a winner at Group 3 level, and at Listed level twice.
Further back in the family are the talented Group winners and stallions Deep Field and Shooting To Win, as well as other stakes winners Zaniah (Zoustar) and Listen Here (Elusive Quality {USA}).
She’s So High has since produced a Zoustar 2-year-old colt named Inner Gold, a Zoustar yearling filly, and is due to foal to Zousain this spring.
Nielsen Park was purchased for $650,000 by ARJB Racing and Anthony Freedman Racing from the 2024 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale from the Widden Stud draft.

From The Peak, 4-year-old mare (Alabama Express x Andes {Street Cry {Ire}})
The John O’Shea and Tom Charlton-trained and Yulong Investments-bred and owned From The Peak (Alabama Express) will be having her fourth start at Newcastle on Tuesday. She has run three solid races in her career, including a brave on-pace third behind Kerber (I Am Invincible) at her last start at Canterbury on July 23.
From The Peak is out of the Street Cry (Ire) nare Andes, she only raced once, but has started her broodmare career well. Her first foal Mountain Range (Teofilo {Ire}) has been a winner and her third foal, Pharari (American Pharoah {USA}) has been a four-time winner and Listed-placed.
