Next up in our 'The TTR Ten' quick-fire Q&A session, Scott Holcombe, Farm Manager at Milburn Creek, tackles ten rapid-fire questions.

1. Best value stallion in the country?

Hellbent.

2. Most exciting new stallion for 2025?

Broadsiding.

3. Breeding more, less, or the same as last year?

Much the same, I have three new American mares from last year's trip to Keeneland, plus one more Australian mare.

4. Best breeder in the country?

A breeder that bats well above for numbers is Mill Park. Very good breeders for a long period.

5. Best judge of a weanling/yearling?

For our relationship over the years, Suman Hedge and Luke Wilkinson stack up well. Outside our own camp, Robert Petith and Brian McGuire selecting for Silverdale, their recent results stack up against anyone's.

7. Most talented young person you’ve come across recently?

Nick Taylor, taking huge leaps in a short period, impressive!

8. Redistribute prize money across races, or happy as is?

Why are we increasing the top end when losing our base breeders and smaller owners, dangerous contracting players.

9. Tariff on imported horses - great idea or misguided protectionism?

Tariffs, most definitely. I'm assuming we have to place them in the rehouse programme. How is it our responsibility to pay for horses we did not breed?.

John Muir has been voicing concerns about the increasing imports and need for a tariff to pay for the post-racing care of these horses.

10. Your best mate in the business?

Long term - Robert Petith/Woodlands days.

I have also worked closely with Suman Hedge in the last 10 years.
