Top-end prize money needs to be cut drastically, and more money needs to be given to country and provincial racing. Closely supported by a full review of the antiquated funding model.
9. Tariff on imported horses - great idea or misguided protectionism?
No import levy, but maybe review handicapping. The imports do contribute to welfare by paying 2.5% of their prize money, but they themselves are not eligible to be re-homed under the current RNSW model.
