The promising Wootton Bassett (GB) colt, Yamashita’s Gold is set to chase back-to-back success for trainer Gavin Bedggood on Wednesday after winning stylishly on the same track a couple of weeks ago. He was Listed-placed as a juvenile, and had built a tidy record before breaking through for that maiden success last start.

Yamashita’s Gold is the ninth foal out of Fortune Of War (General Nediym), she was a winner at 1200 metres, and was Listed on the track. She has been a handy broodmare leaving three winners including Patch Of Theta (Zoustar) who has been a Group winner in Hong Kong, and Spoils (Snitzel) who was three times stakes-placed as a juvenile.
Fortune Of War is very well-bred she is a half-sister to an incredible five individual Group winners all by different sires including Pretty Brazen (Braen Beau), Sertorius (Galileo {Ire}), Dollar For Dollar (High Chaparral {Ire}), Pretty Amazing (American Pharoah {USA}), and Clifton Red (Sebring).
Fortune Of War has since produced a 2-year-old colt by Lonhro, a yearling filly by Splintex, and is due to foal to Playing God in October this year.

As a juvenile he ran a very good race on debut when narrowly beaten by the boom colt Autumn Boy (The Autumn Sun), and then he won nicely at Canterbury defeating the talented type Crossbow (Better Than Ready).
He has since had a nice break and a couple of trials at Canterbury and Rosehill to prepare himself for his resuming run as a 3-year-old.

Central Coast is the second foal from the Champion Zoustar mare Sunlight, who was a three-time Group 1 winner. She has already made a great start to her stud career with her first foal Dawn Service (Justify {USA}) already being a Listed winner at Flemington in his short career.
Central Coast comes from an outstanding family with plenty of closely related Group winners including Clean Energy (Zoustar), Sisstar (Zoustar), Causeway Queen (Giant’s Causeway {USA}), and Solar Charged (Red Ransom).
Since producing Central Coast, Sunlight has left a Home Affairs 2-year-old filly named Lia La La that sold for $3.2 million as a yearling to Mitsu Nakauchida of Japan at the 2025 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale, and she has a Justify (USA) yearling filly, before she missed to both Snitzel and Wootton Bassett (GB) last spring.
Central Coast was purchased by Paul Moroney Bloodstock and Catheryne Bruggeman for $1.4 million from the draft of Coolmore Stud at the 2024 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale.
