Two well-bred runners are taking their place at Rosehill and Moonee Valley on Saturday, promising runners by Snitzel and Zoustar are both looking to make their mark.
Rosehill, Race 6, 2.50pm AEDT, Listed Petaluma Heritage Stakes, $200,000, 1100m
Beadman, 3-year-old colt (Snitzel x Iffranesia {Fr} {Iffraaj {GB}})
Rosehill’s Saturday meeting will serve as the venue for the fourth start for Beadman (Snitzel). This promising colt is trained by Peter Snowden and has warmed up for his resuming run with a couple of nice trials.
Beadman has won two of his three starts, including winning a Group 3 at Gold Coast by over eight lengths back in May.

Beadman is by Arrowfield Stud’s outstanding sire Snitzel, and he has a strong pedigree being out of a French Listed winner in Iffranesia (Fr) (Iffraaj {GB}), and his female family is full of European stakes performers.
Iffranesia since producing Beadman, has left a yearling colt by Snitzel, and was served last spring by Dundeel (NZ).
Beadman was purchased for $900,000 by China Horse Club, Newgate, Go Bloodstock and Trilogy from the draft of Arrowfield Stud at the 2024 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale.

Fermoy, 3-year-old colt (Zoustar x Fundamentalist {Not A Single Doubt})
The well-bred Fermoy (Zoustar) is set to chase his maiden in a 3-year-old Handicap company at Sandown on Saturday
Although he is a maiden he has very strong form having placed at Group 3 level behind Grand Prairie (Written Tycoon) at his last start at Rosehill.
Fermoy is a son of Widden Stud’s star stallion Zoustar and is out of the Not A Single Doubt mare Fundamentalist. She was a two-time winner as a juvenile at 1200 metres including the G3 Dequetteville Stakes.

She also substantially added to her record by placing in the G1 Randwick Guineas, G1 Surround Stakes, G1 Thousand Guineas, G2 Fillies Classic, G3 Sires’ Produce Stakes, G3 Breeders’ Stakes, G1 Empire Rose Stakes, G1 JJ Atkins Stakes, G3 Vanity Stakes, and the Listed Regal Roller Stakes.
Fundamentalist, since producing Fermoy, has left a 2-year-old colt by Home Affairs named Gridlock, and produced a Zoustar colt last month.
Fermoy was a $1,9 million purchase at the sales by T Magnier at the 2024 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale from the draft of Segenhoe Stud Australia Pty Ltd.
