Looking Ahead highlights runners of interest across Australia and New Zealand. Whether they are an exceptionally well-bred or high-priced runner early in their career chasing maiden success, a promising galloper returning to the track or a horse that has trialled particularly well, we’ll aim to give you something to follow.

Three promising 3-year-olds are hitting the track at Sale on Wednesday. Two progeny by I Am Invincible, and a gelding by Savabeel are chasing maiden success.

Celtics, 3-year-old colt (I Am Invincible x Enbihaar {Magnus})

The very well-bred Celtics (I Am Invincible) makes his debut on Wednesday at Sale for trainers Mick Price and Michael Kent (Jnr), after showing some consistent form at the jump-outs.

The I Am Invincible colt is the third foal out of the smart juvenile Enbihaar (Magnus). She won twice as a 2-year-old, including in the G2 Blue Diamond Prelude (f), and was also placed in the G1 Blue Diamond Stakes.

She has since become a super broodmare, leaving the Group 2 winner and Group 1 placed Too Darn Lizzie (Too Darn Hot {GB}), who sold for $2.4 million to Ciaron Maher Bloodstock at this year’s Inglis Chairman’s Sale.

Enbihaar also sold at this year’s Chairman’s Sale for $1.6 million to the bid of Z Zhijun, and she is due to foal to Zoustar late this month.

Enbihaar is also a full sister to the smart Miss Celine (Magnus), who won the Listed Debutant Stakes on debut as a juvenile, so there is plenty of depth to this family.

Celtics was purchased by Rosemont Stud, Suman Hedge Bloodstock (FBAA) and Mick Price Racing for $700,000 from the Kulani Park draft at the 2024 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale.

The well-bred Bajaria (I Am Invincible) is set to have her third career start at Sale on Wednesday for her trainer Peter Gelagotis.

On debut, Bajaria ran a very good fourth at Bendigo, where she attacked the line strongly over 1000 metres, before running a solid third at Geelong in late August. She won a jump-out nicely at Pakenham late last month in preparation for her resuming run.

Oregon’s Day is also a half-sister to the G2 Perth Cup winner Talent Show (Jeune {GB}), and the Listed winner Oregon Spirit (Bel Esprit), and is out of the Group 3 winner Oregon Seal (NZ) (Oregon {USA}).

Oregon’s Day has since left a yearling filly by Snitzel, and is due to foal to Anamoe in late October.

Bajaria was purchased for $525,000 by Toking, Stephen Gray Racing and Wattle Bloodstock (FBAA) from the Segenhoe Stud draft at the 2024 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale.

Savisanta (NZ), 3-year-old gelding (Savabeel x Not Santa (NZ) {Makfi {GB}})

Savisanta (NZ), a son of Savabeel, will be making his second start at Geelong on Thursday for trainer Chris Waller. He ran a very good second on debut on the same track over a similar distance, so with luck from his wide gate, he looks a good chance.

The well-bred gelding is the first foal from the four-time winner Not Santa (NZ) (Makfi {GB}}). She is a well-related type, being a sister to the Group 3 winner Matchbreaker (NZ) - Monster Kaka (H.K.) (Makfi {GB}), and a half sister to the Listed winners Dancer’s Tale (NZ) (Tale Of The Cat {USA}), and Travimyfriend (NZ) (Tavistock {NZ}).

Not Santa since producing Savisanta, has left a 2-year-old filly by Savabeel, a yearling colt by Savabeel, and is due to foal to Super Seth later this spring.

Savisanta was purchased by Chris Waller and Mulcaster Bloodstock for NZ$150,000 from the 2024 New Zealand Bloodstock Karaka National Yearling Sale.
